Job Summary:
Trane Technologies is hiring a Materials/Inventory Analyst in Grand Rapids, MI. Be a part of this rapidly expanding facility! The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Materials Management team by providing detailed reporting, analysis, and knowledge of materials management processes. This position is responsible for setting and maintaining planning parameters, performing root cause analysis on materials issues, continuous improvement of materials management processes, tracking and reporting on metrics, and supporting projects related to material and information flow. Responsible for the successful implementation and maintenance of these processes should yield improvements to material flow, increased inventory accuracy, reduced component shortages, reduced cost of indirect labor for material handling, and improved productivity of the manufacturing operation.

Where is the work:
This position has been designated as On-Site in our Grand Rapids, MI facility. This role will not offer sponsorship.
What you will do:
- Manage and maintain ERP system planning parameters. Follow standard processes for gathering data, analyzing, and loading data into ERP system. Report issues and overall health of the ERP system planning data. Manage PFEP updates.
- Provide detailed reporting and analysis to support Master Production Scheduling, SIOP, Inventory Management, and Material Planning processes.
- Support production scheduling team by creating tools to help with order scheduling, work order sequencing, mass schedule updates, and work order BOM management.
- Actively participate on cross-functional teams to support improvement of material flow and productivity in the production processes.
- Continually strive to improve Materials Management processes in pursuit of excellence (Cycle Counting, Kanban, Min/Max, audits, etc.).
- Solve process issues in a timely manner by interacting with appropriate departments.
- Become MRP system subject matter expert. Use MRP system and related tools to develop reports that can be used by Materials Management personnel to monitor, control, and improve processes.
- Create and run daily reports to track day to day changes in inventory, sales data, and other areas to help identify potential disruptions in material and information flow.
- Support Inventory Management team in identifying and resolving accuracy issues.
- Update, revise, and enforce standard work instructions and operation manuals for the department, as well as ISO work instructions and operations manuals where appropriate.
- Monitor material transaction data, report errors, and take corrective action.
- Key contributor and team leader prior to/during annual physical inventory.
- Special projects as assigned.
What you will bring:
- Bachelors Degree preferred; 3+ years of experience in lieu of a degree. High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-3 in a manufacturing/distribution environment
- Strong mathematical skills
- Knowledge of plant receiving and materials movement processes
- Strong Computer Skills (MS Office, Word, Excel) and ability to use plant IT programs
- Oracle R12 experience preferred
- Demonstrated root cause analysis skills required
- Maintain basic knowledge of internal processes and controls.
- Understanding of Kanban and JIT systems.
- Able to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Broad working knowledge and experience with standard work instructions.
- Must possess a strong customer service orientation and must provide dedicated support of internal and external customer requirements.
- Must be a strong written and verbal communicator, able to communicate to various audiences effectively
- Team oriented, must have the ability to work cohesively with others.
- Must possess ability to work well in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.
