Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer Consultant to perform an Audit LAN Survey for a large office building in Calgary, AB. The consultant will be responsible for assessing the network infrastructure, including switches and access points, to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards. The project must be completed within five weekdays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct a comprehensive LAN survey and audit of the existing network infrastructure.
- Evaluate and document the performance, configuration, and security of switches and access points (APs).
- Identify any potential network bottlenecks, misconfigurations, or security vulnerabilities.
- Provide recommendations for optimization, scalability, and reliability.
- Prepare and deliver a detailed audit report with findings and suggested improvements.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer, Network Analyst, or similar consulting role.
- Expertise in LAN networking, switch configurations, and wireless networking.
- Proficiency in auditing and troubleshooting enterprise network environments.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, VLANs, and security best practices.
- Ability to work independently and deliver results within tight deadlines.
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CWNA, or equivalent.
- Previous experience conducting LAN audits.
- Familiarity with networking equipment from major vendors (Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, etc.).
Job Type: Freelance
Pay: $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
