Job Description

Summary/objective

Buffalo Rock is an award-winning Pepsi and Keurig Dr Pepper bottler founded in Birmingham, AL more than 123 years ago. Buffalo Rock manages the best non-alcoholic beverage portfolio in the country, which includes several beloved global and regional brands. The Sanitation Lead is a key member of the Vertique Team. This position is responsible for overseeing the sanitation duties regarding the entire VTQ machine, the VTQ Towers and general sanitation in the building and outside areas.


Essential functions

Responsible for sanitation and required documentation of the following areas:

  • Supervises assigned hourly Employee-Partners in executing sanitation program including communication, training, and enforcing company policies and expectations in a clean and precise manner.
  • Comply and enforce all GMP’s, safety, and housekeeping standards.
  • Oversee the completion of the BRC Master Sanitation Plan for all areas within and around the entire Vertique system (daily, weekly, and monthly items).
  • Accurately complete all sanitation related paperwork to meet all applicable rules or guidelines that pertain to government, industry, and food safety standards
  • Develop strong sanitation team members through the effective use of performance management processes and tools
  • Ensure the proper use of all sanitation-related chemicals used in the warehouse.
  • Responsible for ordering janitorial supplies as needed, working with vendors to ensure proper inventory levels.
  • Must be able to move up and down steps to gain access to cleaning areas.
  • Must be able to bend under machinery and conveyors to clean, sweep, and mop.
  • Sweep and mop all assigned areas within the Hub as assigned in a timely fashion.
  • Must be certified and able to run a Tenant Scrubber, as designed by manufacturer, utilizing the Infolink computer system. Must scrub all assigned areas daily.
  • Must keep all sanitation supplies in its proper place and notify Maintenance lead when running low.
  • Clean other equipment as assigned.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must exhibit a high level of ethical and moral conduct while at work or in attendance of any off-site function during work hours or after work hours while representing the Buffalo Rock Company.
  • Responsible for continuous self-improvement through the knowledge and use of all Buffalo Rock provided training, either web-based, in-house, or any other provided method. Must successfully complete assigned training curriculum, including but not limited to online and/or facilitated training.
  • Ensure that every reasonable precaution is taken to protect the Company from possible damages, theft, or other liabilities.
  • Ensure that every reasonable precaution is taken to protect the safety of employee- partners, self, customers, Buffalo Rock property, and customer property.

Required education and experience

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED; Required
  • Computer Skills: Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs including - SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint; Preferred
  • Experience:
    • 1 to 2 years of lead/supervisory experience in a related field; Preferred
    • Up to 3 years of warehouse experience; Required
    • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback; Required
