POSITION: Senior Global Applications Engineer
JOB LOCATION: 8017 Breen Rd., Houston, Texas 77064
DUTIES: Provide technical and applications engineering support for global operations, sales, and engineering teams by reviewing well designs, product application alongside hookup and procedures, running torque and drag analysis, swab and surge calculations, tubing stress calculations, and all related hydraulic calculations. Participate in design reviews of new product designs presented by the engineering group with a focus on ensuring engineering designs meet project requirements and an eye for standardization and product improvement. Lead the development of standardized Operations Manuals for Liner Hanger systems products. Lead the creation of stab-up guides and other procedures necessary for workshop employees to utilize when stabbing up and assembling new systems and products. Lead creation of competency matrix and training and development for newer applications engineers as well as workshop employees and field employees. Lead the introduction of new products by training sales, operations, and customers on new products and services. Assist with the development of Statement of Requirements for New Product Requests (NPRs) and assist with maintaining the status of NPRs in the Quality Management System (QMS). Prepare product bulletins and alerts and make recommendations on the need for and timing of potential product bulletins and alerts. Assist in technical writing and review of product marketing materials including datasheets, brochures, and catalogs. Participate in regular cross-functional meetings with sales, regional operations, and region applications engineering in order to continually update priorities and objectives. Lead technical preparation of key Well Construction tenders and bids. Lead troubleshooting analysis for incidents and assist with final investigation reports. Provide technical support to supply chain by verifying the accuracy of orders including functional requirements and appropriate cost targets. Write and present papers for professional engineering associations. Participate in Corrective Action Teams (CAT) to implement corrective and preventive actions. Interface with customers as required. Manage social media presence for well construction product line including brainstorming and creation of content for social media posts as well as scheduling posts as needed. Utilize Microsoft Power BI to lead tracking of well construction run history and new product revenue. Utilize Microsoft Visio to manage stencil library for well construction product line and create hookup templates for well construction systems. Utilize dedicated resources to accomplish goals and resolve issues. Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems. Provide technical guidance to other personnel globally and assigned teams, and serve as a mentor for others in the organization. Apply knowledge in sales, management, engineering or product line management of completion tools, well construction, or frac stimulation. Apply experience in budgeting, planning, and organizing. Apply experience preparing well construction tenders and bids. Travel required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, or 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in a related occupation applying knowledge in sales, management, engineering or product line management of completion tools, well construction, or frac stimulation; participating in regular cross-functional meetings with sales, regional operations, and region applications engineering in order to continually update priorities and objectives; utilizing dedicated resources to accomplish goals and resolve issues; developing action plans to anticipate and respond to problems; applying experience in budgeting, planning, and organizing; utilizing Microsoft Power BI; and utilizing Microsoft Visio. Travel required.
