Open position in all True Media office locations including Kansas City, MO, Columbia, MO, St. Louis MO, and Minneapolis, MN; Hybrid work schedule: 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home
The Business Development Manager supports the Business Development Team in executing the business development strategy through all new business opportunities and encounters. They are responsible for managing a number of business development and marketing projects concurrently.
This is a highly visible but challenging role for a motivated individual. The Business Development Manager will work closely with the leadership team in a fast-paced environment and obtain a strong understanding of the core of the agency's business.
The Business Development Manager is to consult on external communication as it relates to social media, general content development, and thought leadership in line with the agency's strategic vision for growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
- Client Relations/Customer Satisfaction -Upon award of new business, act as Senior Project Manager through assignment of long-term Project Manager, responsible for successful client onboarding.
- Agency Processes and General Communication - With SVP Operations, develop and implement a process for onboarding new clients, until the project is assigned to a dedicated Project Manager as part of onboarding.
- Platform/Tools - Responsible for integrity and set up of all platforms related to New Business including, but not limited to Google Drive and Asana. Will regularly update based on the latest content and status.
- When working with a partner agency, identify workflow between partner agencies throughout the new business process.
- Business Development - Manage all day to day operations of New Business Project. Manage all agency pitch processes from RFI or first meeting to final contract and transition.
- Stay involved with content development to ensure timely delivery.
- Own Pipeline documents and run weekly Pipeline meetings with the Executive Team.
- Assemble Background Documents for big pitches, including Client Bios and relevant Company Information.
- Work with the Executive Assistant on any collateral production needs for new business purposes.
- Interface with other agency department heads to anticipate the complex needs of clients during RFI/RFP stage to get input to RFP/RFI response.
- Join New Business Meetings (as appropriate) to represent Operations, Project Management, Onboarding, or Scope of Works.
- Marketing - Update and maintain staff bios, photos, tool lists, client lists, updated RFI answers, etc.
- Meet with Client Strategy Directors/AMDs quarterly to look for case study opportunities

- 2-3 years experience in Marketing, Advertising or related field.
- Excellent problem solving skills, confidence to propose new ideas, and the ability to influence at all levels
- Demonstrate a high level of communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Service-oriented personality, proficient at delivering high quality work within deadlines
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills
Education
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, degree or concentration in advertising, marketing or communications preferred.
