Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- RF Design and planning for Commnet RAN Network, which includes RF analysis, search area issuance, candidate assessment, and approvals.
- Lead for RF Engineering Team supporting standards and guidelines for Commnet’s network.
- Ensuring RF databases’ are up dated in a timely manner.
- Leading work of contractors for special projects.
- Redesigning mature network areas to minimize capacity constraints and improve SINR while working with other areas of network to ensure performance fixes/initiatives are in place.
- Partnering with System Performance to improve various Network KPIs.
- Partnering with sales and sales operations to verify that builds are meeting objectives.
- Leading / contributing to improve internal processes.
- Providing coverage maps to support internal and governmental requirements.
- Supporting the investigation and resolution of customer complaints.
- Proactively looking for areas to improve overall network performance. Finding and resolving system issues on the network by utilizing traditional and non-traditional means.
- Providing leadership and direction to your team as well as other network teams.
- Interacting with cross functional teams to deploy and optimize components for best efficiency and reliability.
- Providing subject matter expertise. Helping train new team members and mentoring current engineers. Providing presentations to other groups as required.
- Taking ownership of issues and driving them to resolution.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
- Minimum 10 years’ of relevant work experience in the cellular or telecommunications industry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including knowledge of VB macro creation and worksheet manipulation in Excel, RF propagation tools, and PowerPoint usage.
- Solid knowledge of RF theory and practice as well as LTE/VoLTE Technology
- Good understanding of LTE and Tarana network KPIs and key parameters.
Desired:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
- Ten or more years of experience in the cellular or telecommunications industry with direct experience in RF Design & Optimization.
- Experience in Design & Optimization of LTE /Tarana networks.
- Knowledge of propagation modeling software such as Planet EV, Atoll, Google Network Plan etc. – Expert level experience in Atoll a plus.
- Model Tuning experience.
- Proficiency in office computer applications: Various RF tools such as Mapinfo/ArcGIS, post-processing software etc., Knowledge of SQL scripting, VB Scripting, other professional software.
- Experience with ZTE, ALU, Nokia, Ericsson, Cambium, Tarana, and Ubiquiti wireless infrastructures.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Hiring Compensation Range: $105,000 - $160,000
- Compensation is determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
