Program Production Test Engineer (PTE) support both the manufacturing test teams and the program they are assigned to support. They provide support to all manufacturing teams across all make centers where testing is performed and cover all phases of the product life cycle, including product development, transition to production, sustained production, depot activities and end of contract equipment closeout and dispositioning. The program PTE supports creating Basis of Estimates (BOE) to estimate costs to add additional capacity, new capabilities and equipment obsolescence. The program PTE supports ensuring compliance of the prime hardware to technical data package requirements and supporting test equipment. The program PTE supports critical activities across all make centers where testing is performed as well as at the suppliers. They assist the engineering team and make center PTE’s by performing troubleshooting and problem solving of test failures. Identifies opportunities in test processes to reduce testing, improve efficiency, yields, and capacity. The Program PTE supports engineering configuration change board and assists the make centers in determining the correct effectivity for the change as well as supporting risk assessments and the program risk register. The program PTE may be assigned projects to lead where they will track progress and execution either as the (CAM) cost account manager or a member of the project team.
What You Will Do
Creation and maintenance of the program test equipment obsolescence plan.
Responsible for overall capacity plan for test equipment.
Creation of Basis of Estimates (BOE) to estimate costs to add additional capacity, new capabilities and equipment obsolescence.
Supports make center PTE’s to reduce test time, improve the test process through analysis of predictive metrics of trends, failure modes, and test yields.
Support engineering and make center PTE’s perform preliminary investigation and problem resolution.
Develop test flows and contribute to test capacity analysis.
Maintain changes to the test equipment technical data package which includes drawings, test instructions, test position manuals, and system software.
Assist in non-routine fault isolation, diagnosis and repair of the product or test equipment.
Lead root cause and corrective action investigations and present findings.
Performs risk assessments and supports the programs risk register reviews.
Leads projects and is responsible for execution.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
The ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
