This position may be filled remotely, or in any of our locations.

The Financial Data Engineer’s responsibilities include the day-to-day administration of the Firm's Elite accounting, billing, time, intake, and HR systems; ensuring data integrity within and between those systems; developing custom tools and integrations to enhance or supplement those systems; and supporting attorneys and other internal clients by providing data and end-user support. Focus is on internal clients, including but not limited to attorneys, paralegals, administrative staff, and clients. Essential job functions include:

Develop and maintain data synchronizations between various systems within the Firm, and between the Firm and other key data providers using Visual Studio .Net, SSIS, SFTP, Integration Builder, or other ETL techniques.
Develop custom tools, loaders, procedures, or workflows where applicable to support data integrations and business needs.
Develop methods and processes to interact with various cloud-based SOAP and RESTful APIs.
Develop and maintain tables, queries, stored procedures, and user defined functions as needed by internal requirements.
Supports the Firm's enterprise class accounting system and all ancillary systems including Time Entry, Invoice Production, New Business Intake, Budgeting, Asset Management, Expense Management, Procurement, HR, Conflict Processing, and other financial systems.
Maintain Azure servers and IIS Web implementations, including SSL and security measures.
Monitor SQL databases and application servers to ensure healthy and efficient environments.
Monitor and assist in troubleshooting system performance or data integrity issues.
Assist in creation and maintenance of master database, data warehouse, and processes surrounding ETL tools.
Assists with implementing software application version upgrades.
Assist in design and implementation of Power-Bl dashboards.
Assist and designing reports using SSRS.
Become subject matter expert on Workflow Management Tools, like Decisions.
Become subject matter expert on Azure based SQL server techniques.
Propose and implement new processes to improve efficiency of department.
Provide guidance to stakeholders on devising effective and efficient approaches to achieve the project objectives.
Support collaboration between accounting, vendor, and all third-party applications.
Provide project management guidance to internal and external client base.
Contribute to enterprise architecture development from a business needs point of view.
Open tickets with vendor support to resolve issues.

Position Requirements

4-year degree with major coursework in related field; or combination of education and commensurate work experience required.
Trade Training preferred; 5 years' experience in related field required.
Understanding of application life cycles and client/server architectures in an enterprise environment.
Intermediate or advanced MS SQL Server skills (Develop and maintain tables, queries, stored procedures, and user defined functions, and data migration/ integrations)
Experience developing in Visual Studio C# / VB.Net, or other object-oriented programming language and developing integrations using REST and/or SOAP APIs
Ability to work across departments to understand both the technical and business needs of the customer and leverage new or existing technologies to provide the best solution.
Project management experience; agile and software development life cycle a plus.
General understanding of law firms, legal teams and processes used by both would be a plus.

Additional Desired Qualifications

Experience in Intapp applications and Integration Builder
Experience with Thomson Reuters Elite 3E application and development
Knowledge of SQL databases and performance tuning or indexing
Understanding of IIS hosted web applications
Experience with Azure
Experience with Power BI
Experience with SSAS and cubes
Experience with web or jQuery
Experience in working with XML and/or JSON data files.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. The expected compensation ranges for this position in various states and jurisdictions are as follows:

State of California: $125,000 - $239,000
State of Colorado: $115,000 - $205,000
Jersey City, NJ: $136,000 - $246,000
State of Maryland: $121,000 - $184,000
State of Massachusetts: $125,000 - $239,000
State of New York: $116,000 - $251,000
State of Washington: $121,000 - $230,000
Washington, D.C.: $161,000 - $237,000

The above salaries do not include a discretionary bonus, however bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed, and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
