Summary of Position
To support leading linen management practices and customer experience, Ecotex Healthcare Linen Service is currently seeking a part-time Hospital Linen Porter to serve Halton Region customers. This role is required Monday to Friday between the hours of 3:00PM-9:00PM. From time to time the role may be asked to cover ad hoc weekend shifts.
Duties and Responsibilities
In support of effective on-site linen management, and to enable a safe, comfortable patient care environment, the Linen Porter will be responsible for the following key duties:
Specific Scope of Services
· Receive, stage and deliver clean linen carts to pre-identified areas.
· Ensure neat and tidy combining of linens and staging of extra in linen room.
· Leadership of Orange Return Linen Bag placement, exchange and return to the Ecotex Plant for processing.
· Staging of empty linen carts in Waste Management areas of facilities.
· Communication with Ecotex Account Managers from time to time with respect to required linen adjustments or operational considerations.
· Must treat all staff, patients and visitors with courtesy, dignity, and respect.
· Must have significant attention to detail while being neat and efficient.
· Must have exceptional customer service and communication skills.
Required Skills and Knowledge
· MANDATORY: Demonstrated reliable attendance and punctuality is a must.
· MANDATORY: Reliable transportation and ability to travel between three sites in close proximity.
· Working knowledge of hospital linen services would be an asset.
· Minimum of grade twelve (12) or equivalent.
· Ability to push and pull 100lbs.
· Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal required.
· Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
· Demonstrated interpersonal skills, and the ability to work alone or as a part of a team.
· Demonstrated reliable attendance and punctuality is a must.
· Ability to exercise good judgement and sensitivity in dealing with hospital information.
· Ability to prioritize and successfully resolve issues with high sense of urgency and customer experience focus.
· Strong attention to detail and follow through.
