Why become a Head of Sales?
The Head of Sales role for Allergan Aesthetics (an Abbvie company), is a senior leadership position based at the office in the Markham, Canada, that will report directly to Carolina Martin, General Manager, AA. This is an exciting role taking responsibility for leading a Sales team to drive business results for the Facial Aesthetics, SkinQuality, Coolsculpting and Plastics/Regenerative Medicine portfolios in Canada through our various customer segments including management of KAM and spark team. In this role, the Head of Sales will lead a team of 5 Sales Directors and a broader team of approximately 70 Regional Managers and field representatives. This position will also sit on the Allergan Aesthetics Leadership Team.
What your new manager wants you to know
This position is responsible to partner with the General Manager on the vision and strategy for growth for the Sales organization. Including optimizing existing portfolio to achieve growth ambition and readiness and success of future launches. The professional will engage and inspire the team with a clear vision, aligning with AA culture and behaviours, uniquely positioning Allergan to capitalize on market opportunities and achieve\exceed business objectives, support implementation of strategic plans with commercial excellence, stablish strong relationships with Key customers and support the commercial transformation in line with our build to last ambition. This leader will also act as the central focal point for communication and collaboration regarding account planning, strategy, resource allocation, customer engagement and account growth.
The Head of Sales will lead sales operational excellence for Allergan Aesthetics in Canada, partnering with sales leadership, marketing, business excellence, AMI lead and other functions to ensure a nimble, customer focused, performance driven and accountable sales organization. And also contribute to P&L management in partnership with finance lead to drive accurate forecasting.

You will…
- Achieve the revenue and contribution targets for the Medical Aesthetics franchises and the overall enterprise, through effective coordination and communication between customers, sales team and internal support departments. And strong forecasting and P&L management.
- Lead, and coach, motivate, directly manage the Sales Directors and their team, ensuring that all sales\marketing programs, campaigns, and alliances are executed effectively and efficiently while also ensuring cross-functional alignment to the commercial strategy.
- Establish appropriate operating frameworks for the different sales teams
- Build, develop, inspire and lead a high-performance sales organization by providing development through continual direct feedback, coaching and counselling. Evaluate, select and grow talent to deliver against both the current and future portfolio.
- Develop and implement world-class Medical Aesthetics sales strategy (in collaboration and partnership with the Marketing Director/AMI lead and across all functions).
- Ensure compliance with all applicable policies and regulations.
- Cultivate, maintain and build relationships with thought leaders, key customers and professional organizations to support the sustainable growth of the Canadian AA affiliate.
- Represents Allergan to customers, consumers, prospects and the public by spending time in the field, at trade shows, demonstrations and seminars.
- Acquires, analyzes, and shares market and competitive intelligence with marketing and sales teams, as well as with senior leaders to capitalize on market trends and developments.
Qualifications
You will bring…
- University Degree, preferably in Business (an MBA would be an asset) combined with a minimum 10+ years of leadership experience, where you have built and led multi-functional sales and/or marketing teams, with a superior track record in exceeding top and bottom-line targets.
- significant experience in leading in-field sales teams in Medical Aesthetics or Pharma. Marketing previous experience would be an asset.
- Substantial success in meeting and exceeding sales targets through the direction and motivation of others
- Engagement and influence with stakeholders to ensure the best cross-functional thinking and results
- A strategic and growth-oriented mindset, inclusive of deep financial acumen, where you will have the confidence and credibility to strategically align resources behind a growth strategy that drives total portfolio value.
- Experience in attracting, assessing, and developing talent and optimizing team performance in direct and matrixed leadership roles and experiences in managing a diverse team.
- Innate ability to effectively inspire and work through others and puts the needs of the team ahead of your own ego. In this respect, you demonstrated track record in setting a vision and successfully engaging and rallying a team to achieve “beyond their potential”.
