Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team in Milpitas, CA. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in facilities maintenance, with expertise in building systems upkeep, mechanical repairs, and preventative maintenance. As a key member of our facilities team, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and integrity of all building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. This role requires troubleshooting, emergency repairs, and routine inspections to maintain a safe, functional, and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building Maintenance & Repairs: Conduct structural repairs to windows, doors, walls, and other key building components. Ensure the long-term integrity of the facility through regular inspections and preventive repairs.
- Plumbing Maintenance: Manage plumbing systems, including repairing pipes, faucets, water fixtures, and maintaining proper drainage systems to ensure operational efficiency.
- Electrical Maintenance: Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of electrical systems including wiring, outlets, light fixtures, and circuit boards, ensuring safety compliance and operational readiness.
- HVAC Systems Maintenance: Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal functionality of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units. Maintain energy efficiency and adjust settings as needed for performance.
- Routine Inspections: Conduct daily walkthroughs of the facility, identifying areas requiring maintenance, repairs, or upgrades. Keep detailed records and report findings to the facilities management team.
- Mechanical Systems Repair & Maintenance: Ensure the proper function of mechanical systems such as air compressors, vacuum pumps, air dryers, and other critical equipment. Perform repairs and routine maintenance to extend the life of systems.
- Facilities Support Services: Assist in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining additional facilities systems, including elevators, lighting, emergency systems, and any other building-related infrastructure.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Facilities Technician, Maintenance Technician, or in similar roles within facilities management.
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment maintenance.
- Experience with diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing building systems, including air compressors, vacuum pumps, piping systems, and electrical circuits.
- Ability to handle preventive maintenance tasks and perform minor repairs in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to perform tasks in a timely manner.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with building management systems (BMS) is a plus.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and handling heavy equipment and materials.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in HVAC, plumbing, electrical maintenance, or related fields.
- Facilities management certification or an engineering degree.
- Experience working with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Familiarity with sustainability practices in facilities operations, including energy efficiency and eco-friendly systems.
