Job Description
Position Summary:
Provide support to the Assistant Director in the development and implementation of the student advisement program. Advise enrolled students on a variety of academic and career-related issues such as curriculum requirements, course selection, registration, graduate school preparation, and career development. Design and write informational materials. Along with the Assistant Director, run and create programs for the department, such as the peer mentor program, annual major spotlight event, etc.
Qualifications:
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Counseling, or a related field.
Required Experience:
2+ years relevant experience advising students, planning and administering program, service, or office activities or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience:
Experience advising undergraduate students.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent organization, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interact with a diverse population at all levels. Knowledge of standard office software.

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $72,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
