We're looking for an IT Consultant with OT experience to join our team! This position will focus on managing specialized work efficiently, with confidence and competence. The position requires above average attention to details, concern for the exact correctness of work, and strong commitment to tasks completed on time. The person in this position will take work seriously, have a keen sense of duty, and is disciplined. The position will generally be task oriented, requiring someone with a conservative, careful, and cautious approach to work.
General Job Duties:
- Performing GrayMatter services to meet client needs, with a specific focus on facilitating and managing virtualized server systems and the networking to the plant floor.
- Designing, developing, and implementing solutions to resolve customer issues
- Consulting with and training end users on new applications
- Assisting in project IT system design, development and planning
- Performing onsite pilots, testing and demos as needed
- The location of the position is our Richmond office at 1314 East Cary St Richmond, VA 23219
- Position requires independent travel to customer locations within Virginia
- Work in and around active construction sites, water and wastewater treatment plants, manufacturing facilities and other industrial environments will be required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Needed:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable field (EE, EET, ME, MET, CS or comparable preferred) or Associates Degree with 3 years’ experience.
- Experience with or Exposure to SCADA & Control systems in a plant floor environment is a plus.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience with:
- IT Systems implementation, design, installs, and troubleshooting
- Microsoft Server roles – DC, RDS etc.
- Virtualization – VMware and/or Hyper-V
- Configuring Layer 2-3, network switches, routers and firewalls (Cisco and/or Fortinet).
- Strong ability to take ownership of the task assigned, solve problems and research solutions
- Excellent customer service attitude
- Must be a US resident or currently authorized to work in the USA

Preferred experience:
- Operational Technology experience - OT or Cyber Security/Networking
- Work related to projects in the industrial automation or water/wastewater industries
- Project management skills (PMI training, PMP Certification)
- Programming of PLCs, SCADA, or MES hardware and software
- Engineering firm experience
The target annual base compensation range for this position is $120,000-140,000, based upon relevant qualifications. This position is also eligible for bonus pay.
