What You Will Do:
The Membership Sales & Service staff member must provide a high level of customer service to our members/program participants and incoming callers/visitors. Also provides administrative support to the Manager of Membership and Youth Programs – Balsillie Family Branch.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Work with members and potential members to find out what they need, create solutions, and ensure everyone has a great service experience.
- Use the 7 Steps of Selling model in all interactions and tours. Ask all perspective members to join.
- Regular tracking of membership inquiries and identifying potential leads for membership.
- Work with other departments within the YMCA to ensure the delivery of clear, concise program and membership information.
- Answer the phones promptly and efficiently with informative and helpful information.
- Increase membership retention and membership sales through the understanding and use of the action plans and SAM 2.1 to improve overall service.
- Use computerized software program for membership/program transactions and reports.
- Responsible for handling and resolving unique membership situations.
- Provide leadership and assist with supervision of the part time staff team.
- Administrative duties including, but not limited to, verifications, group memberships, filing, following up with members regarding missed payments, assisting with staff training.
- Develop positive relationships with members, participants, peers, volunteers, and parents.
- Responsible for the safety and security of members and participants.
What you will bring to the position:
- Minimum OSSD; Post-Secondary Education an asset
- Computer literate and working knowledge of Active Net system and other computer programs ( i.e. Microsoft Word/Excel, Network)
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Outgoing personality
- Excellent telephone skills
- First Aid, CPR qualifications
- Must be flexible to work all hours the facility is open; including evenings and weekends
