Account Executive
Are you a driven and passionate sales professional looking to make a significant impact in the laboratory testing industry? We are seeking an experienced Account Executive to join our team and play a vital role in driving sales growth through customer acquisition and relationship management.
Job Summary
The Account Executive is responsible for driving sales growth through new customer acquisition as well as up-selling and servicing current clients for laboratory testing services. They are also responsible for understanding customer requirements and pitching an appropriate service, handling objections, and closing the sale.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of the Company and the client industry, including key competitors, terminology, technology, trends, challenges, reimbursement, and rules and regulations.
- Initiates and takes ownership of principles of territory management, including account planning, selling processes, and pre/post-sales implementation processes.
- Applies knowledge of the client’s business to develop optimal solutions.
- Proactively and with a regular cadence demonstrates to the customer the defined value of partnering with the Company both pre- and post-sales.
- Effectively negotiates and collaborates with the client and colleagues to influence support for mutually beneficial outcomes and achieve consensus.
- Builds and sustains relationships founded on trust with internal and external clients and ensures client satisfaction and loyalty.
- Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward clients always.
- Communicate with clients effectively through various channels.
- Identifies and qualifies new sales opportunities and develops plans for introducing new solutions through collaborative relationships.
- Develops and maintains business relationships with assigned accounts and key decision makers.
- Facilitate communication between clients and Company team members to ensure smooth delivery of services.
- Follows-up on leads obtained through the Company internal sources.
- Complies with HIPAA rules and regulations.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma, general education degree or equivalent.
- At least 1-4 years’ experience in outside sales in a diagnostic clinical laboratory role and/or with a healthcare firm in a quick-paced environment.
- In-depth understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
- Strong understanding of clinical testing and specimen requirements.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge of LabDaq, NetSuite and LIS software.
- Experience in laboratory medicine, mental health or related field and knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.

- Must have the ability to multitask, work within tight deadlines and prioritize conflicting demands whilst working effectively.
- Must have the ability to work alone but also in a team, with fellow staff, in the business setting.
- Ability to keep high level of confidentiality is essential.
Working Conditions
- Full-time must work: Five days a week, based on an 8-hour workday.
- Travel to meet with clients or potential clients will be required on occasion.
Total compensation for this role, including base salary and commissions, typically starts at $80k and can exceed this amount based on sales performance, existing book of business, and relevant experience.
