Job Description

As part of the Sales Department, this position reports to the Sales and Business Development Manager. The main responsibility is to assist the Sales Team in responding promptly to Requests for Quotation (RFQ) and proposing optimal solutions to secure profitable business opportunities in line with our corporate objectives.

Key duties include analyzing RFQs and working collaboratively with other teams to develop accurate cost estimates within deadlines. The insights gained from this analysis drive strategic decisions to meet customer requirements and improve profitability.

The role plays a critical part in steering the company's growth trajectory. Attention to detail and adaptability are vital attributes for achieving success in this role.


  • Analyze design blueprints, CAD data, and technical specifications to understand product requirements from an engineering perspective.
  • Collaborate with the engineering department to propose and develop bill of materials, processes, and tooling lineup for quoting.
  • Support technical benchmarking on similar products in various automotive segments to gain insights for the requested product.
  • Gain proficiency in the technical aspects of materials and composites used in automotive commodities like the requested product.
  • Engage in VEVA and research and development with suppliers to innovate and introduce cutting-edge materials for meeting customer targets.
  • Comprehend the diverse thermoforming and injection-molded processes necessary for manufacturing the requested product. By assessing the recommended material for its application, it is crucial to discern the available manufacturing processes and determine the most appropriate ones to ensure competitive pricing of the product.
  • Review supplier estimates from both technical/engineering and manufacturing perspectives to facilitate agreement on piece and tooling costs.
  • Support in technical presentations to customers, explaining quoted product concepts and simplifying complex engineering, material, and manufacturing concepts for customer understanding.
  • Participate with cross functional teams and duties as required


REQUIRED SKILLS, LICENSES, & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering with at least 2 years of experience, preferably with a focus on commercial aspects. An MBA is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Strong desire to learn and contribute with a can-do attitude, always willing to go the extra mile to achieve success.
  • Attention to detail and adaptability, essential for success in this role.
  • Fundamentals of management principles and practices.
  • Customer-focused mindset with the capability to anticipate and navigate challenges.
  • Team-oriented with a genuine commitment to contributing to a high-performing group.
  • Methods for representing the company effectively, such as preparing and delivering presentations, and demonstrating strong interpersonal skills in various communication channels (in-person, phone, email).

  • Proficient in preparing clear, concise, and informative reports, correspondence, and other written materials.
  • Skilled in managing confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be capable of lifting and moving objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Must possess the ability to hear, speak, walk, stand, bend, and sit in both office and production environments. Willingness to travel locally and out of state for training and customer visits is required. Must have the ability to distinguish colors.
