Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) Senior Manager

Job Description:

The Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) Senior Manager is responsible for overall management of the client accounting services division including supervision and scheduling of staff, calculating pricing proposals and managing departmental budget, responsible for department’s overall client portfolio, and delivering an exceptional client experience in line with the firm’s core values.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manages the Accounting Services personnel who are responsible for financial reporting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and budget preparation.
  • Recruits and hires accounting and financial staff and conducts annual discussion for staff’s professional development.
  • Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff.
  • Serve as a positive role model and resource to all Accounting Services personnel.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages client onboarding process.
  • Manages division’s overall client portfolio.
  • Develops and manages division budget, anticipates, and communicates budget issues, identifies opportunities to improve engagement profitability and assists with billings.
  • Responsible for assignment of client services to staff and monitors status of work deliverables (WIP tracking)
  • Reviews deliverables of staff for accuracy and completeness in line with position
  • Follows up on all referred opportunities and meets with prospective clients to develop estimates for potential accounting and consulting services.
  • Participation in hiring processes for division staff.
  • Staff supervision includes: coaching, advising and supporting team members in meeting client and professional development expectations.
  • Conducts periodic discussion of all staff and manages their professional development.
  • Participates in firm marketing efforts at levels in line with position.
  • Develops and maintains technical knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations as they pertain to accounting services.
  • Skilled in functionality and compliance of accounting software utilized by client.
  • Shares and transfers knowledge with team members and develops a network of resources within the firm to facilitate the sharing of information.
  • Attends continuing professional education to further develop knowledge and skill.

Business Development

  • Present service options to potential clients.
  • Is alert to potential opportunities and refers these to the appropriate specialist within the firm.
  • Actively participate in community and professional organizations.
  • Participate in recruitment forums.
  • Participate in proposals and presentations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Required:

  • Strong knowledge in accounting principles and practices
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • A general and growing knowledge of firm products and services in the practice area, and a general knowledge of products and services in other practice areas
  • Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Suite of Products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Technical knowledge in accounting and business management software, e.g., QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Accounting CS, UltraTax CS, Fixed Assets CS, Payroll CS, Bill.com, and Right Networks

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • 9+ years in accounting principles and practices experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $150,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
