ABOUT THE POSITION
As a Business Development Associate at Imaginuity, you will play a pivotal role in driving new business opportunities, with a strong emphasis on outbound cold calling. Your primary responsibility will be to generate revenue by identifying, qualifying, and developing prospects through proactive outreach. This role requires an individual who is highly motivated, results-driven, and possesses exceptional communication skills. You will be responsible for building relationships with potential named clients, understanding their business needs, and positioning Imaginuity’s capabilities to solve their challenges. You will also contribute to the overall sales strategy by researching and identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, and supporting the team’s ongoing sales efforts.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development or sales, with a proven track record of lead generation and conversion through outbound activities. You must be comfortable with cold calling, relationship-building, and managing a sales pipeline from prospect to close. This position offers a base salary with the opportunity for commission, tied to setting qualified appointments and closed sales.
Responsibilities
  • Proactively engage in outbound cold calling to identify new business opportunities and generate qualified leads for the sales team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with potential accounts by understanding their business needs and positioning Imaginuity’s capabilities as a solution.
  • Conduct initial phone presentations to showcase Imaginuity’s services and value propositions to prospective clients.
  • Effectively qualify leads to ensure a clear understanding of account requirements and make recommendations on the best approach to move forward.
  • Manage and track the sales pipeline using CRM tools, ensuring accuracy and timely follow-up on all opportunities.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to contribute insights to the sales team’s strategy.
  • Prepare compelling presentation materials and proposals tailored to client needs and objectives.
  • Maintain sales materials, internal customer knowledge, and sales updates to ensure consistency and professionalism in all internal and client communications.
  • Actively participate in external networking groups and professional associations to expand your network and generate potential leads.
  • As needed follow up on leads and referrals generated by the Sales Representatives and other team members.
  • Contribute to Imaginuity’s overall business growth by participating in strategy discussions and offering feedback on ways to improve outreach efforts.

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques. This is normally acquired through a combination of the completion of a Bachelor's Degree and one to two years of sales or marketing experience.
  • 1-2 years of business development or sales experience in an agency environment.
  • Experience in telephone prospecting, with a demonstrated ability to engage C-level executives and decision-makers in both cold calls and face-to-face meetings.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and professionally.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness in lead qualification and sales documentation.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to shared goals.
  • Demonstrated business acumen, with an ability to understand the client’s business challenges and recommend relevant solutions.
  • Experience managing deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to adapt to shifting client needs and objectives.
  • Ability to persuade and influence others.
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
