Saskatchewan Blue Cross®, one of Saskatchewan’s Top Employers, is currently recruiting for a full-time permanent Sales Representative to join our team in the Individual Sales department. This position offers the flexibility to be in-office or participate in hybrid options in our Saskatoon or Regina office.
JOB FUNCTION

Under the direct supervision of the Team Lead, Individual Sales, and reporting directly to the Manager, Individual Sales, this position is responsible for promoting, qualifying, presenting, and selling Saskatchewan Blue Cross Products to potential new and existing customers. The Sales Representative manages the suite of product sales through the execution of effective processes and ensuring adherence to established turnaround times while handling varied fast-paced work, subject to shifting priorities in a deadline driven environment to meet established sales targets.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Selling Saskatchewan Blue Cross Insurance products to potential applicants, new and existing customers
- Contact individuals about Saskatchewan Blue Cross Products to explain the products, understand the needs of the customer, explain the application process, and describe further detailed requirements in order to qualify for coverage
- Assess customer needs by offering customer focused guidance and solutions
- Liaise with Internal Stakeholders to understand contract provisions and coverage availability based on assessment of the applicant
- Contact individuals to explain details of the offer for coverage, including explanations of any exclusions from the plan
- Upsell coverage and add new benefit options to new and existing customers
- Provide an excellent customer experience through the delivery of the customer onboarding program
- Possess strong, detailed, and technical product knowledge particular to the Personal Product line and be able to recommend the best solutions based on customer needs
- Consistently demonstrate pre-call planning activities such as member file review and actioning on post calls to adequately update member records and to follow through on the outcomes of the agreed upon results with the member
- Administer and maintain files of individual policyholders, including the creation of letters, emails, memos, quotes, proposals, applications, renewals and other forms, documentation and reports as required
- Demonstrate effective use CRM system to manage assigned leads, opportunities and tasks and ensure accuracy of data input
- Effectively manage and ensure achieving or exceeding established sales targets
- Regularly complete and update records and reports related to sales progress and achievement of KPI’s
- Adhere to implemented procedures and adjust in accordance with insurance policies, sales processes, and workflow procedures while maintaining standard turnaround times
- Remain current with product knowledge, trends, and technology
- Other related projects and duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Completion of a Post-Secondary diploma or certificate program in a related field at a recognized institution or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- 1-3 years of related experience in the insurance industry or success in a professional sales capacity would be considered an asset
- Preferences will be given to candidates who have successfully completed their Accident and Sickness licensing
- The successful candidate will be required to obtain their Accident and Sickness licensing within six months of hire
- Strong technical skills in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and familiarity with CRM software, with the ability to easily learn new programs
- Ability to learn and maintain strong, detailed knowledge of SBC products and services
- Knowledge of, or ability to learn, the insurance and/or health care industry
- Understanding of the sales process
- Commitment to ongoing personal development with willingness to participate in industry training
- Strong critical thinking, conflict resolution and decision-making ability
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and within a team environment
- Results and service oriented and responsive to external stakeholders needs
- Superior organization and time management and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to work under pressure while maintaining composure and professionalism
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable when dealing with change

- Legally entitled to work in Canada on an unrestricted basis
