Position Summary
The SnoPlanks Academy (SPA) Launch Cohort Team Member positions are twelve month student roles that will be closely supervised by the Executive Director of SnoPlanks Academy at OSU-Cascades. These 18 Team Member roles will be assigned to one of the 5 SPA Teams:
Product Team (4 students)
Operations and Supply Chain Team (4 students)
Marketing Team (6 students)
Sales and Customer Success Team (2 students)
Finance and Administration Team (2 students)
These Team Member roles will work closely with the SnoPlanks Academy administrative staff (the Executive Director, the Academic Director, and the Assistant Director of Experiential Learning) to perform all required business functions of the SPA organization. The SPA administrative staff expects to select the Launch Cohort of students in late March 2024, and to begin onboarding starting April 1 (beginning of Spring 2024 term).
Anticipated rate of pay $16.00 per hour.

Position Duties
The specific responsibilities of the SPA Launch Cohort Team Member roles will be tailored to the business functions of the Team. The business functions are defined as follows:

Product Team
  • Design
  • Prototyping
  • Testing
  • Quality (design, assurance)
  • R&D Lab maintenance

Operations and Supply Chain Team
  • Supply Chain Management
  • OEM/Contract Manufacturing partner oversight
  • Logistics/Factory to warehouse transportation
  • Shipping and receiving
  • Inventory management

Marketing Team
  • Creative Direction
  • Content Creation
  • Photography
  • Videography
  • Graphics design
  • Photo and video shoots
  • Social Media
  • Demand Generation
  • Community Engagement
  • Events (Sponsorship, Business/social, Campus)

Sales and Customer Success Team
  • Direct to Consumer Sales
  • Prospect inquiries
  • Pricing (DTC and wholesale)
  • Website integration to Shopify
  • Sales order management
  • Customer support
  • Complaints, Returns, Warranty claims

Finance and Administration Team
  • Procurement
  • Payroll administration
  • Bookkeeping and financial statements
  • Treasury and cash management
  • Annual budgeting process


Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
    • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
    • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
    • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
    • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
    • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*


  • International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

Additional Required Qualifications
The Launch Cohort Team Member positions require strong creative skills, business skills, and in-depth experience across a wide range of professional disciplines including product design, operations/supply chain, marketing, sales, finance, and administration. Students should have strong proficiency in one or more of these areas to be considered. This role will require students to be creative, flexible, collaborative, and capable of independent self-directed work.

Preferred (Special) Qualifications
Outdoor products experience, and a passion for winter sports, is desirable but not necessary.
