Business Development Representative - Defense & Aerospace

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Business Development Representative to join our team and help us expand our market presence.
Job Summary: The Business Development Representative (BDR) will play a crucial role in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the defense industry (energetics and propulsion systems), aerospace, and/or space industries. The BDR will work closely with the internal sales and operation teams to develop and execute strategies that drive revenue growth and establish strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet or exceed orders and sales targets as set by/with leadership.
- Promote the company’s products/services by addressing or predicting clients’ objectives.
- Identify new industries/adjacencies and target customers to meet orders and sales goals.
- Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers.
- Actively manage customers through the development funnel.
- Diligently oversee opportunities at every stage of the sales funnel, ensuring accurate tracking in the CRM.
- Collaborate with the sales and technical teams to create engaging proposals and presentations.
- Tailor proposals to meet client needs and highlight the benefits of our solutions.
- Prepare and submit weekly bookings forecasts.
- Assess product sales, competitor activities, business development opportunities, and market conditions, and report findings to CBI leadership.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and events to expand our network.
- Perform other duties and specific projects as assigned.
- Foster team rapport in CBI offices and collaborate with the program manager and cross-functional teams to meet customer expectations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of proven experience in business development, sales, or a related role within the defense, aerospace, or space industries.
- Sales experience in vertically integrated contract manufacturing.
- Knowledge of multi-axis machining, welding, deep hole drilling, and flowforming.
