We are seeking an experienced designer and web creative to join our Digital Studio at Rivian. This role is responsible for creating customer-facing experiences on Rivian’s website with a focus on product stories and commerce flows.As a designer on our web team you’ll be responsible for bringing our vehicles and services to life on a global platform. You’ll translate the vision and experience of driving the R1T and R1S vehicles into narrative form, helping customers to imagine their life with with a Rivian. You’ll help answer questions about driving an electric vehicle such as range, and performance. You’ll describe and visualize the rich infrastructure that Rivian has built to support ownership, including our RAN charging networks, Connect+, and service ecosystem. And when customers are ready to consider a purchase, you’ll create tools to help them pick out their dream vehicle, work through purchase and delivery, and manage account and ownership details.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with our partners to define the user problems and opportunities for improving the experience and performance of our website
- Contribute to feature roadmaps and planning in collaboration with our cross-functional teams to define our focus in the quarters ahead.
- Collaborate with design teams across Rivian including commercial, design, service, and enterprise
- Manage the design of individual projects and workstreams from initiation through release.
- Create strategic design briefs to set the framing and scope of each project.
- Understand user needs through contextual inquiry
- Iterate on possible solutions throughout the design process, from early sketches to polished final prototypes.
- Present work to business stakeholders and design leadership.
- Document final designs in detailed handoff files. Apply our design system to drive consistency across our digital ecosystem. Work with our Design Systems team to stretch and redefine our patterns when needed.
- Work closely with development partners throughout the build process to test in-flight work prior to release

- 5+ years working in website UI Design wtih a strong focus on visual aesthetics and UX
- Highly Proficient in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and Sketch
- Familiarty with user research methodologies, A/B Testing, and usability best practices
- Deep knowledge of commerce and check-out flows
- Thorough understanding of website UX principles
- Proficiency with Javascript, CSS HTML for enhanced U Experienced (Preferred)
- Domain experience in consumer goods
- Experience working closely with cross functional teams in an agile fashion
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A compelling visual portfolio of work to demonstrate design experience
Salary Range Irvine-Based Applicants: $154,000-$192,500 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, and other factors permitted by law).
