Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Execute technical projects and assignments in coordination with project managers and support staff.
- Prepare detailed written memoranda and reports on technical assignments and present technical information to peers and clients;
- Prepare design documents including drawings, technical specifications, basis of design documents, bid documents and project schedules related to dams.
- Self-motivated. The candidate will have the confidence and motivation to independently research, determine and calculate answers that lead to independent decisions on various work/client related issues. The candidate is not necessarily expected to act as the Engineer of Record on projects but will interact and report to engineers who act in that capacity.
- The candidate will have considerable experience with H/H modeling.
- CAD experience. The candidate will have experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D software, with ability to analyze/convert surfaces to support H/H modeling program demands.
Minimum Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional experience demonstrating skills mentioned above;
- B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or Water Resources related field, M.S. considered a plus.
- Registered Colorado Professional Engineer.
- Ability to work in a team environment and meet deadlines.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel on temporary work assignments. 20-40% travel is possible.
- Willingness and ability to perform field tasks and oversight and work in inclement conditions.
- Candidate should have experience in:
- the planning and design of dams,
- feasibility and economic studies of hydroelectric projects,
- spillway design and hydraulic analysis
- inlet and outlet works design
- hydraulic analysis of conduit and open channel flow
- probable maximum flood (PMF) or inflow design flood (IDF) studies
- 1D and 2D hydraulic computer modeling

- Pay Range For This Position: $100,000-115,000/year
