SUMMARY: Computes, prepares and reviews tax statements and records; meets all reporting requirements in a timely manner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitate and manage the preparation and review of federal tax returns and the accurate, timely filing of all tax forms.
  • Ensure accurate, timely filing of consolidated federal, state, and local income tax returns and other business-related filings.
  • Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures. Ensures compliance with all relevant state/local, federal, and international tax laws and regulations. Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes. Recommends alternative tax treatments to alleviate or reduce tax burden.
  • Manage members of the tax team as they prepare components of client US federal and individual US state and/or local income tax returns and other tax documents. Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process.
  • Plan for and develop overall return calendar and coordinate timing and inputs with tax team. Researches and responds to state/local, federal, and international tax authorities to resolve tax issues. Assists with general tax accounting. Reviews and analyzes the organization's tax accounting operation; recommends improvements.
  • Assists with related special projects as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent; CPA license.
  • Experience working with 1065, 1120, 1120S, 1041, 1040, etc.
  • Five years plus related experience as a Tax Manager Extensive individual/corporate/partnership/trusts tax knowledge
  • Proficient in QuickBooks, Practice CS, Ultra Tax, Go File Room, Fixed Asset CS (a plus). Strong knowledge of federal and state tax codes, compliance and procedures for individuals, businesses, and trusts.
  • Strong experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements. Ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks and the tasks of other tax team members.
  • Works well independently as well as the ability to work well with stakeholders and communicate the benefits of tax initiatives.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
