Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing environmental conditions, ensuring compliance with regulations, and contributing to projects focused on environmental remediation and resource management. This role requires a strong understanding of environmental science, project management, and technical skills related to water resources and permitting.
Job Summary/Purpose
Responsible for development and implementation of processes required to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations. This contract role will provide support to Entergy’s growth strategy through proactive engagement and environmental risk management. The contract position would be responsible for ensuring environmental requirements are met on assigned projects.

Job Duties/Responsibilities
· Conduct initial desktop ecological impact evaluation of assigned Entergy construction project. This may include environmental permitting/mitigation cost estimates.
· Coordinate with Environmental Project Services team for vendor oversight related to:
Conducting additional desktop/field ecological impact evaluations in support of Entergy construction project permitting including but not limited to permit applications and acquisition (air, water, storm water general/industrial permit, wetlands, natural resources, threatened and endangered species, local/county)
Coordinating commenting agency correspondence required as a condition of issuance (USEPA, USFWS, NOAA, SHPO and state regulatory agencies),
Developing work plans (spoil management, environmental impact avoidance, stream crossing, equipment management),
Completing required site inspections (permit compliance and pollution prevention inspections).
· Support Phase I and II due diligence investigations associated with real estate transactions.
· Interface with needed regulatory agencies to ensure proper permitting.
· Provide guidance and support to key internal stakeholders regarding environmental issues. Be thoroughly familiar with site specific environmental permits, timelines, and plans.
· Attend project calls associated with assigned projects.
· Communicating issues by presentations and writing and distributing concise, timely and accurate summaries, reviewing routine reports for project management and leadership, and negotiating with state/federal agencies on the Company’s behalf to arrive at a favorable solution.
· Escalate risks immediately to assigned contract supervisor and/or project manager. Develop work plans to mitigate risks, as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental or a related field
- Strong knowledge of environmental permitting and regulations
- Proficiency in project management and scheduling
- Experience with GIS, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D software
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Familiarity with water resources management and environmental law
- Ability to conduct environmental analysis and remediation projects
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
