Job Title: Analytics/Data Engineer
Job Description:
Responsible for the analysis, definition, design, construction, testing, installation, modification, and maintenance of properly engineered information systems, containing software as the major component, to meet agreed business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build and deploy BI solutions (e.g. reporting tools)
- Develop creative new data integration's, modifications to existing software, and/or makes decisions regarding integrating software applications data in accordance with agreed upon specifications.
- Ensure high level of data quality is maintained.
- Gather business requirements, analyze source systems, define underlying data sources and transformation requirements, design data models, and develop metadata for data analysis and visualization.
- Acquire and analyze data and metrics across the enterprise to learn how they can be incorporated into data visualizations and dashboards.
- Translate business analysis and business needs into prototypes concepts of reports and dashboards and contribute to design and visualization best practices.
- Configure and administer data analytics and data visualization enterprise software platform.
- Have thorough understanding of data integration techniques and guide developers on efficient ETL design and development.
- Develop and update technical documentation.
- Provide trouble-shooting analysis & resolution in a timely manner.
- Proactively analyze and bring forth ideas for continuous improvement.
- Provides status updates for own scope of work within projects.
- Participates in internal team and status meetings.
- Develops software using disciplined software development processes, adhering to team/company standards and software best practice guidelines, and corporate policies.
Required Skills:
- 3+ years of experience
- Worked on data engineering projects, data modelling, implementation, and development.
- Worked on data warehouses, hands-on engineering development design, build and deploy data architectures and pipelines.
- Experienced in SQL and data structures.
- Worked on development EtL process.
- Experience in performance improvement on data pipelines and a good understanding of Volume, Variety, Veracity, Velocity, and Value concepts in Big Data
- Python and SQL experience
- Expert in data curation, cleansing, and wrangling
- Worked in integration with Tableau/Power BI
- Worked on DBT Github Actions/GIT

The pay rate that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $43-48/hr CAD.
