POSITION SUMMARY

Serves as champion for implementation and sustainment of optimization efforts that support clinical and business work flow in alignment with the current best practice. Partners with Privia, Quality, Revenue Operations, Coding, Health Plan Performance Improvement, Provider Growth and Development, Operational Excellence, and Clinical Informatics and Education to ensure development of practice optimization assessments, which promotes an evidence-based practice culture to assist providers and associates in achieving positive patient and organizational outcomes.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Serves as an expert in Privia/Athena/AthenaHealth’s Performance Management System for purposes of training/educating clinicians and clinic staff; drives process improvement; and workflow optimization.

Collaboratively develops customized, solutions-oriented improvements and adoption plans specific to individual practices.

Reviews multiple performance data sources to identify and prioritize practice and provider interventions necessary to optimize the utilization of the EMR.

Identifies potential process and/or department-specific risks and assists in strategies to mitigate or resolve them.

Collaborates with Clinical Quality Department to ensure required data is captured to meet regulatory requirements and practice leadership needs.

Articulates required quality metrics within the EHR to assist the providers and clinical staff.

Provides regular verbal and written updates to the HFMG director leadership on opportunities identified for EMR and workflow optimization.

Participate in educational activities to support growing knowledge base & remain current on the latest best practice recommendations.

Assist providers and associates on the proper documents of clinical data points to ensure accurate submission and maximum reimbursement.

Work closely with internal team to help facilitate the transition of the provider’s practice from Fee-For-Service to the future risk-based model of healthcare reimbursement.

Applies LEAN principles by identifying and implementing ways to reduce waste, costs and expenses without sacrificing quality or customer satisfaction. Recommends new or improved processes, services or equipment to enhance efficiency and productivity in the practice setting.

Serves as subject matter expert on the practice management components of the EHR

Support an intensive assessment program to increase awareness of practice workflows and identify opportunities for optimization and/or education.

Evaluates the skillset, functionality and level of mastery of all clinical staff with EHR usage by conducting on-going performance evaluations; data reviews; training needs assessments.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor in health information systems, business administration, computer information systems or a related field.
Work Experience: Two (2) years ambulatory practice experience.
Work Experience: Two (2) years working within electronic medical record systems.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Proficient in practice management operations and ambulatory documentation requirements.

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

Licensure: Licensed Allied Health Professional (i.e. RN, RD, RT, etc.).
Work Experience: Training/education work experience and/or process engineering.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Light Work

Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
