We are currently seeking an experienced Business Development professional to lead our rotary wing Helmet Mounted Display (HMD) pursuits including the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) campaign and other US & global rotary wing pursuits. This position is required to review our current strategy, improve it and then advance it as required to secure a meaningful market position across the US DoD and allied forces rotary wing landscape. This position reports to the Vice President of Visionix and is located in our Aurora, IL (Chicago) office.
Responsibilities:- Work with product leads to help keep the product line relevant and fresh by contributing to the long-term product roadmap.
- Prepare internal pursuit reviews and external proposals to include competitive assessments, customer hot buttons and win themes, price-to-win strategies, etc.
- Work with BD professionals from other Thales entities to integrate their capabilities into our proposals or our HMD product into theirs.
- Work with communications staff to help define marketing themes for web, print, and social media advertising.
- Lead/support coordination and execution of Tradeshows and customer visits.
- Execute on the business development function with minimal supervision to include performing equipment demonstrations to pilots and senior customer executives.
- Identify and implement key partnerships, alliances and improve business relationships.
- Acquire and disseminate market intelligence and competitor knowledge as relevant to product line.
- By example, set the standards that embody the TDSI Core Value & Thales Leadership Model.
- Maintain a high ethical standard of practice, including compliance with all company procedures.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship required. - Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related degree preferred.
- 4 + years’ experience within sales and marketing or Business Development in related field, preferably sales experience in the military avionics sector.
- DoD acquisition experience can be substituted for Business Development experience.
- Experience with rotary wing platforms and the USG procurement process.
- Past experience as a US Army helicopter pilot preferred.
- Experience in the development and execution of strategic plans focused on specific long term growth objectives while meeting current-year Order Intake financial obligations.
- Ability to establish and maintain long term business relationships with US DoD personnel and key customers.
- Experience in lead development, qualification, and closing sales.
- Demonstrated ability to be successful in achieving business growth objectives with minimum management oversight.
- English fluency - effective oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication skills and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to form relationships and exert influence at all company, partner and customer organization levels is required.
- Ability to work in a team environment and interact with employees in all departments and functions.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and sales tracking systems.
- Domestic and International travel up to 70%.
The annualized pay range for this role is $142,067-181,530 USD along with a target incentive compensation plan (ICP) of 10%. The pay range provided is a good faith estimate representative of the experience level for the role described above. TDSI considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
