Job Description

Reporting to the Director – Sustainable Fiber Procurement, the Regional Sales – Sustainable Fiber Procurement mission is to lead and oversee Atlantic Packaging’s procurement function for the Fiber Procurement Division to ensure that Atlantic Packaging’s operational needs and strategic objectives are met through procurement. You thus develop tactical procurement strategies that optimize process implementation and compliance, effectively identify spending opportunities and make critical decisions that impact the overall success of the function. You assume final authority for the selection of suppliers in collaboration with senior management and all regional business functions and are fully accountable for the procurement function and the development and retention of supplier and customer relationships. You also promote effective supplier management to maintain the value of the offer and services throughout the contracts and develop a category and relationship management structure both externally and internally within the Atlantic Packaging business units that allows you to offer the best opportunities to suppliers.

Accountable

  • Create and develop the strategic sourcing strategy
  • Reach targeted strategic objectives in terms of cost savings and spend analysis
  • Address suppliers and customers that are not in line with our strategy
  • Align strategic sourcing team to identify spend opportunities, supplier performance and operation compliance

Responsible

  • Monitor supplier performance
  • Establish and communicate business rules, ensure governance of the procurement policy, and maintain related documentation.
  • Advise and support management on the procurement cycle.
  • Develop performance indicators for the unit.
  • Develop the tools required to support the strategic procurement cycle.
  • Appropriately manage human and material resources to ensure exemplary financial performance and achieve the unit’s objectives.
  • Optimize synergy and integration within Atlantic Packaging business units.
  • Implement and comply with Atlantic Packaging procurement cycle processes.
  • Create and maintain a network in the business community.
  • Implement and ensure continuous improvement of the procurement cycle including margin increase and cost savings.
  • Monitor best procurement practices and disseminate them across the organization.
  • Engage and develop all relationships with the Atlantic Packaging business units.

Experiences and Strengths

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain or operations management, or equivalent
  • More than 10 years of experience in a strategic sourcing role
  • A good functional appreciation of the range of procurement categories
  • Strong understanding of procurement best practices
  • Strong leadership in an environment with a high level of uncertainty around predicted or future demand
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as dexterity in “reading” the market
  • Talent in negotiations and networking
  • Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
  • Experience developing innovative and highly effective strategies using industry-recognized standard methodologies, best practices and processes
  • Leadership and expertise required to promote buy-in to proposed solutions.
  • Experience in change management as well as process re-engineering and outsourcing
  • Awareness of the various methodologies for measuring the value of procurement decisions, both financially and qualitatively
  • Team leadership with an aptitude for developing talent
  • High level of integrity to support and advise business partners.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal English.
