Job Description
Structural Materials is looking to add a fresh face to its sales team. Applicants should have at minimum a two-year degree in business, management, construction, or relatable field of study. A strong work history in sales and/or construction will be acceptable in place of formal education. Applicants should hold themselves to a professional standard as well as be self-motivated. People skills are mandatory as they will be developing new relationships as well as continue to grow existing ones.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities and customer relationships.
- Maintain and nurture existing customer relationships.
- Support inside and outside sales efforts by performing material take-offs from customer blueprints, drawings and/or verbal instructions
- Identify the best choice materials for projects.
- Perform price estimates, close sales, and process orders.
- Help manage the flow of materials to jobsites while coordinating with team.
- Maintains cost database by entering and backing up data.
- Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
- Continually updates technical knowledge by attending educational workshops.
- Train alongside our current staff and be coached for excellence in your position.
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and equipment
- Proficiency in using cost estimating software and tools.
- Seeking a degree in construction management, Engineering or related field (preferred)
- Ability to read a blueprint (preferred)
- Excellent mathematical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Must be able work 4-5 Saturdays per year during busy season (spring-fall).
