These systems will include movement monitoring of structures utilizing automated motorized total stations, vibration and noise monitors, online data visualization, and geotechnical downhole instrumentation such as inclinometers, observation wells, vibrating wire piezometers, and borehole extensometers.
This position includes interfacing directly with existing clients and identifying and developing new clients both within GEI and externally. This includes evaluating the site conditions to ensure the correct selection of equipment. Additionally, install instrumentation and monitoring systems in alignment with the project's specifications and requirements, ensuring proper functionality and compliance with industry standards.
  • Engage in clear and effective communication with engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders regarding monitoring and instrumentation matters. Additionally, take part in site planning, staff coordination, and safety meetings to ensure alignment on project objectives and safety protocols.
  • Installing and monitoring inclinometers, SAAV, extensometers, vibrating wire piezometers, strain gauges, observation wells, seismographs, and robotic total station systems, etc.
  • Maintaining and troubleshooting instrumentation equipment.
  • Handling difficult situations with tact and diplomacy to maintain positive working relationships with clients.
  • Executing diligently prescribed company technical procedures, safe work, environmental practices, and work plans.
  • Traveling to project sites as required. Travel within North America is expected.
