Other Conditions:
Extramural funds. Part-time status could increase to full-time depending on project needs. To begin May 2024 or soon thereafter. Renewal contingent upon department needs, availability of funds, and satisfactory performance.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Director of Graduate ECE Programs, responsible for information development and dissemination, student and community liason, recruitment, maintaining program participant data system.- Serve as primary liaison with students, faculty and campus across UH system ECE advising and instructional faculty and community partners. Point of contact to disseminate information and assist with applying or advising students on trying to apply for tuition stipend or locate appropriate point-of-contact to enroll in ECE programs systemwide (e.g. ECE faculty representatives, advising office personnel, student ambassadors, stakeholder contacts).
- Develop and maintain data management systems. Draft/Assist with preparation of written reports and compiling and analyzing data for UH, agency and legislative requests with regard to enrollment, participation in tuition stipend program, retention and program completion, transfer of accounts to EOEL for work commitment obligations. Contribute to recommendations for future actions based on the scope of the EOEL contract agreement and needs of the project.
- Provide recommendations for cross-agency and inter-departmental procedures, including follow up on status and evaluation, tracking progress, etc. Prepare reports on students who fall out of status and program completers and provide recommendations for follow-up.
- Coordinate all UH system initiated ECE Tuition Stipend related recruitment events including design, generate, and synthesize content for recruitment marketing campaigns in compliance with program objectives to be disseminated to prospective students. (e.g. websites, flyers, social media).
- Lead or participate in promotion activities. Design, generate, and synthesize content for marketing campaigns in compliance with program objectives to be disseminated to prospective students and community partners. (e.g. websites, flyers, social media, informal contacts with higher education partners and community members etc.) Assist with preparing media content / updates for Dean's office, legislative testimony drafts and data as requested.
- Lead ECE Tuition Stipend Recruitment efforts with prospective students and employers via ZOOM information sessions, email, phone or as available. (via phone, email or ZOOM) or other means as requested by stakeholders. Participate in professional conferences as available.
Minimum Qualifications
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Education, Business Administration, Communications, Social Sciences or related field and 2 years of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for program management; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
- Functional knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the management of an educational program demonstrated by knowledge, understanding and ability to apply concepts, terminology.
- Functional knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and systems associated with the management of an educational program.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in the support of various programs.
- Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.
- Ability to conduct on-line orientation events held on occasional evenings or weekends.
Desirable Qualifications
- Prior programmatic, fiscal, and/or personnel experience in early childhood education and/or higher education institutions.
- Familiarity with UH policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of programs and services, employment options and regulatory systems in Hawaii's early learning system.
- Knowledge of UH system early childhood education program options, educational pathways, and wrap around support systems for non-traditional college students and students from underrepresented groups.
