Position: Chicago Area Manager

Job Summary: Be the face of The Recreation Academy Chicago Branch! As an Area Manager you’ll be responsible for the coordination of staff, campers, equipment, and more for summer camps with our fantastic partner locations around the suburbs of Chicago (Specifically Aurora.)

We have partnered with Sugar Grove Park District to provide 2 months of exciting summer programming and are looking for a talented and self driven area manager to take on this role. We have a tried and true methodology and curriculums that are already prepared with substantial support to give you the tools to run a successful program. This role requires a high level of organization, communication skills, an understanding of how youth programs run and function, and most importantly a desire to provide a positive impact on our cadets lives ALL while having fun.

Experience/ Qualifications:

4+ years working with kids

Valid Driver's License and Insured Vehicle ( you will be transporting equipment and need to make regular site visits)

Experience in coordinating events/ Project Management

Must have a clean criminal background.

Be Responsible and Organized

GREAT communication skills ( you will be managing several people with direct support form the CEO and Business Development Manager)

Compensation:

$25.00/ hour with opportunity for growth and employment beyond the summer. (This position is a 1099 contracted position.)

Working Conditions:

You will be working at the school campus and may be required to regularly lift moderate weight. You will be active most days and once settled in will find a good pace to stay at.

You will be working remotely with management and directly with the client, staff and campers at IMSA

Supervisory Responsibilities;

You will be responsible for the running and management of the entire program with support from upper management. This includes:

  • Scheduling workers and accounting for them ( logistically)
  • Making sure that all activities scheduled run smoothly and are staffed appropriately.

*** IF STAFF ARE UNAVAILABLE YOU WILL TEACH THE PROGRAM ****

  • Management and storage of all equipment ( we will provide a location and access )
  • Approving POA for staff members and ensuring programs run to our standard
  • Directly dealing with parents when needed
  • Emergency responses ( we will clarify during interview about expectations )
  • Other duties that will come up in the day to day operations of programs
