ROLE

As a Business Development Representative, you will be an integral part of the sales team. You will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. You must be comfortable making dozens of calls per day, working with channel partners, generating interest, qualifying prospects and closing sales. Ultimately, you will be leveraging your past sales experience and your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to grow our market depth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails;
  • Work to understand customer needs and requirements;
  • Work with Major Account Executives to ensure prospects pass the company vetting process;
  • Route qualified opportunities to the appropriate sales executives for further development and closure;
  • Leverage sales automation tools to achieve maximum efficiency;
  • Track sales performance metrics and report them to the sales team on a regular basis;
  • Research accounts, identify key players and generate interest;
  • Maintain and expand your database of prospects within your assigned territory;
  • Collaborate with channel partners to build pipeline and close deals;
  • Perform effective online demos for prospects;
  • Close sales and achieve quarterly quotas;
  • Any and all other duties as assigned to meet Company objectives.

REQUIREMENTS
  • 5+ years of professional experience as sales representative or in similar role;
  • Naturally competitive; metrics obsessed and have a track-record of exceeding your sales targets;
  • Analytical thinker and seeks to understand the root cause of problems by drawing conclusions based on data;
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills;
  • Relationship builder based on trust
  • Previous experience working with sales technology like CRM systems and Sales automation tools;
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude even under high pressure to meet quotas;
  • Ability to quickly pinpoint problems and come up with creative solutions to keep up momentum
  • Self-motivated and always thinking about how to do things better;
  • Experience working on a small-to-medium sized team

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Able to attend and conduct presentations and off-site meetings
  • Travel within & outside the GTA will occasionally be required using own vehicle
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
  • Scheduling of client/business events outside of regular business hours as required
