Summary:
A leading solar energy company is seeking a Commercial Project Manager to oversee the successful execution of commercial PV projects from intake through to completion. Acting as the primary customer contact post-sale, the Commercial Project Manager ensures seamless project management and provides top-tier customer service. This role is critical in coordinating timelines, technical details, and process information with the sales and installation teams. The position is a hybrid/office/remote role for a flexibility work environment. This role does offer a pathway for growth within the organization and is ideal for someone with strong organizational, project management, and leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement processes and technological solutions for efficient project execution.
- Oversee projects from engineering approval through inspection to completion.
- Manage up to 20-30 commercial solar projects annually.
- Navigate project management software, including Procore, or related software.
- Create and manage RFIs and submittals.
- Lead pre-engineering meetings post-site survey in coordination with the Commercial Sales Representative.
- Manage team members and 3rd party partners for energy metering, engineering, and design.
- Ensure accurate purchasing and project coordination.
- Lead commercial design review meetings with customers and internal teams.
- Proactively communicate project status and next steps to customers and stakeholders.
- Coordinate and address any required project corrections.
- Secure AHJ approvals and permit issuance.
- Maintain project budgets and ensure timely project execution.
- Transition projects smoothly to the construction team upon permit receipt.
- Oversee commercial billing, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing per contract.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in project management, ideally with a focus on commercial solar or similar fields.
- Proficiency with project management software such as Procore (Bluebeam, MS Project, BIM 360, and Con Docs)
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and a proactive communication style.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
