Job Description

OTT Pay is part of the OTT Financial Group. We are the leading Canadian company enabling businesses to accept QR code-based digital payment methods such as WeChat Pay, Alipay, and China UnionPay. We also help businesses take payments made with traditional methods such as Visa and Mastercard. In addition, we provide value-added services such as marketing and e-commerce through our platforms and other partners. We have completed Series D funding.


We are looking for a Marketing Director to support our business growth in Toronto. This is a full-time, permanent position. The Marketing Director will be reporting directly to the CEO. The Marketing Director is responsible for developing and executing OTT Pay’s strategic marketing plans and brand image. This individual will serve as the subject matter expert in all marketing-related activities through various channels and have a data-focused drive to action with an eye on emerging trends. The Marketing Director will collaborate on the launch of new products, services, and associated brands to meet profitability goals through effective client-centric marketing programs.

How you will contribute:

  • Own and lead all marketing functions with a focus on growth marketing but also including development and implementation of the Brand strategy, product marketing, lead generation, and content marketing market in the North American market.
  • Develop and execute omni-channel strategies for driving growth, focusing on paid and organic acquisition, SEO, content marketing, demand generation and lead generation.
  • Contribute to the formulation of business and sales strategy and generate creative ideas for business development, customer acquisition and expansion of OTT Pay.
  • Proactively seek out, and evaluate, new collaborators, tactics, media and technologies that improve the efficacy, efficiency and innovation of OTT Pay’s marketing efforts.
  • Effectively establish and maintain public relationships with local government, industry influencers and key international strategic partners and merchants.
  • Work closely with the company’s Sales Team & Product Management Team; enabling the Sales Team to meet their commercial objectives by providing them with appropriate tools, materials and presentations; and helping the Product Management Team to define marketing materials and programs.
  • Provide short- and long-term market forecasts and reports by directing market research collection, analysis, and interpretation of market data.
  • Monitor merchandising plans and strategies that back up the development of our payment services.
  • Discover innovative ways of using and selling OTT payment products and cross-selling other OTT products.
  • Manage social media presence and direct programs to improve reputation and brand recognition.
  • Undertake continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends of payment solution industry.
  • Attend relevant trade shows and convention appearances to build relationships and promote the organization’s initiatives; ensure the company’s image truly reflects the value we bring to clients.
  • Lead the development and execution of go-to-market strategy, positioning and branding, as well as advertising and email campaigns, for all product launches.
  • Lead the creation and iteration of OTT Pay’s marketing website, marketing collateral, sales enablement, and pitch decks, including defining feature requirements, engaging consultants or design agencies as needed, creating or overseeing the creation of content, and managing launch.
  • Develop and execute a plan for building/growing the marketing team, and lead and coach team members.

What you bring to the table:

  • 7-9+ years experience in marketing, with at least 4 years focused on growth marketing, preferably in B2B, payments processing, or other type of Fintech company.
  • University degree in marketing, advertising, sales, or business administration, or equivalent.
  • Comfort with startup speed and ambiguity, using test-and-learn methods in a collaborative environment where proactive stakeholder communication is crucial.
  • Exceptional written communication skills. You should be a concise, engaging and accomplished writer, with samples to demonstrate that.
  • Strategic mindset, with the ability to think big picture about high level goals, and work backwards to develop a detailed plan to execute on those goals.
  • Exceptional organization, project management and planning skills.
  • Analytical skill set, with the ability to be data-driven in your approach, and to analyze and report on outcomes and results.

The successful candidate will be working at our Leslie Street Head Office, Mon to Fri 900am to 530pm.
