BOXX Modular rents, leases, repairs, renovates and sells temporary and permanent commercial modular buildings, including standard buildings ready for immediate delivery and custom-designed new-manufactured solutions. We work with our customers to plan and provide workplace solutions, and supply additional services such as delivery and installation, furniture rentals and more.

We have a full-time position for an Outside Sales Representative; residing within and marketing to a specific territory defined as Western North Carolina (43 Counties) and all of South Carolina (46 Counties).


The selected candidate will work from the BOXX Modular Charlotte Branch Office and/or a Home-Office setting.


We are seeking a qualified Area Sales Manager for this territory and responsible for developing new business as well as managing an existing customer base and within this designated geographical territory through the sale and lease of commercial modular structures, both new and used. This Sales Representative will communicate closely with the VP, US MSS, Sales Manager and the Operations team members, and corporate staff to ensure attainment of established growth objectives. The successful candidates will function independently within an entrepreneurial environment and will report to the Regional Sales Manager.


The Sales Representative is responsible for meeting and/or exceeding established sales goals and targets to increase revenue and profit for their operating division and the company. They are also responsible for the general management and maximization of margin percentage, for all their accounts within this defined geographic region.


The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of proven success in consultative selling to a variety of industries, including construction, education, energy, government/military and more. Experience in Commercial Modular sales/rentals is a plus. Proficiency with Salesforce CRM would also be a strong asset.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a branch marketing and business development plan that focuses on penetrating concentrated markets for new business
  • Attain annual business plan
  • Daily Prospecting and lead development of new customers. Source public bid opportunities for commercial modular projects
  • Account management to maintain existing customers and obtain renewals or repeat business, including routinely visiting on-lease buildings with current customers
  • Clearly defining the project scope with the customer and relaying this information to Operations Manager to obtain vendor pricing. (Perform preliminary site inspections to define scope.)
  • Creation of the estimate (bid sheet) within Salesforce and with the Operations Manager
  • Development of pricing strategy with the approval of the Regional sales Manager
  • Creating detailed and complex sales proposals and negotiating with customers to close deals
  • Support day-to-day operational issues to provide exceptional customer service
  • Assist with collection on accounts as needed
  • Completion of annual Customer Needs Analysis
  • Prepare written marketing and sales reports as required

Qualifications:

  • Completion of post-secondary school, with a specialization in Sales and Marketing is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years selling to the following industries: construction, education, energy, government/military sales experience is required
  • Rental sales experience a strong asset
  • Strong full cycle sales development skills (deals can range from 1 week to 1 year in duration)
  • Documented successful Business-to-Business technical sales experience in commercial modular or associated construction industry (5 years industry experience preferred)
  • Demonstrated advanced sales skills including qualification, consultative selling, negotiating, relationship building, and account management
  • Strong technical, mechanical, and estimating aptitudes, with proven experience in obtaining building permits and understanding of the local municipal approval process
  • Working knowledge of blueprints, building codes, AIA/Construction terminology a plus
  • Ability to represent the company professionally and positively with internal personnel and external customers
  • Independent and disciplined with strong time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective oral and written communicator
  • Must type proficiently and have solid working knowledge of MS Office with the ability to master navigation of the company’s database and software programs. Previous working knowledge of contact/customer management utilizing “Salesforce” is a plus.
  • Travel is required in the territory and may require air or ground travel to perform sales functions and attend occasional company meetings
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for intervals of up to 4 hours or longer
  • Ability to climb a ladder to gain access to interior of buildings and to view roof, and ability to exit building via ladder
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug & alcohol testing as well as a criminal check.
