Circuit Stream is a leader in future skills education in game development, game design, software development, product management and other tech training for adults and teens. We build world-class educational services that focus on making it easier for people and organizations around the world to learn the skills needed to leverage the power of emerging technology.
We are looking for a highly motivated Business Development Manager to create and manage relationships with employer partners, companies across Canada and U.S., who are interested in providing job opportunities and hiring Circuit Stream bootcamp students. Your mission is to create a robust pipeline of industry partners in multiple cities and states who have internship or full time roles and work closely with our Career Coach to connect students and graduates with these opportunities. You will be responsible for owning key employment outcome metrics and generating a consistent pipeline of partners to support our students' career journeys.
This position will be based in our Calgary office (Beltline 1st Street and 11th Ave S.W.) with a fully in-office working model.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development & Employer Outreach
- Establish and develop industry partnerships to position students as top candidates for jobs, projects, and mentorships.
- Meet or exceed quarterly targets for building partnerships with companies that align with each bootcamp program.
- Implement a process-driven approach to maximize partner outreach and manage ongoing relationships.
- Collaborate with educational teams to ensure classroom learning is tied to industry demands and job opportunities.
- Drive employment outcomes by focusing on metrics such as job placements, time to employment, and interview rates, aiming for 50% employment within 90 days post-course and 100% employment within 180 days.
- Support broader company business development efforts, including outreach for new markets, securing partnerships for future offerings, and engaging local businesses to expand company visibility.
Event Planning & Partnership Engagement
- Organize events that connect students with industry professionals, including Pitch Days, panels, and company presentations.
- Plan and manage business development-focused events that highlight student achievements and skills to potential employers.
- Track and analyze partnership performance and its impact on student outcomes, refining strategies based on data insights.
Data & Metrics Management
- Manage job placement tracking and reporting, ensuring that employment goals are met.
- Provide regular reporting on partnership activities, including interviews secured, job offers made, and networking events held.
- Own a pipeline of partners for all our program offerings in our CRM
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Education, or a related field. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred but not required.
Experience
- Within 2-5 years of experience in business development, preferably in the education, recruitment agency or technology sectors.
- Proven ability to establish strong partnerships and manage business development pipelines across multiple territories (in Canada and U.S.)
- Experience in organizing employer engagement events and aligning business development with strategic educational objectives.
- Some experience leading others as a senior individual contributor or emerging manager
Required Skills
Strong interpersonal skills to build lasting relationships with industry partners.
Excellent project management and event planning capabilities.
Data-driven decision-making with an analytical approach to track employment metrics.
Outstanding communication skills to engage with industry leaders, students, and internal teams.
Familiarity with CRM and data management platform - HubSpot CRM and LinkedIn Sales Navigator experience is strongly preferred
