Job Description
The potential candidate has to work in Markham location at least 2 days a week and 1 day in any of the other work locations (e.g., either Markham or Downtown Toronto).

Your future duties and responsibilities
- Collaborate with business and IT to develop a data requirement artifact that meets corporate needs and industry standards/requirements.
- Review, analyze and evaluate user needs to create data systems solutions that support overall business strategies. Having both business and technical expertise liaise between IT and business users to capture and document system requirements and define scope and objectives and assist in the creation of system specifications that drive system development and implementation for data systems.
- Strong Analysis and Design skills in a multi-tier environment.
- Provide support to the development and testing to triage and testing of data and financial issues, BAU defects and enhancements.
- Assist in coordinating and participate in the analysis, design, development, unit testing and maintenance of mission-critical business applications.
- Participate in R&D Introduce effective software development practices and methodologies aimed at controlling costs and delivering quality data solutions on a timely basis while building a strong well-motivated development team.
- Participate in special projects and ad hoc analyses as necessary.
- Act as a point of contact to resolve business, technical and solution related challenges from delivery teams for best efficiency.
- Advocate importance of data catalogs, data governance and data quality practices.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- University degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
- Minimum 5 years of experience successfully contributing to the Data Systems Analysis organizations with expertise in building large-scale enterprise data assets.
- 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst working on mid-large projects for data design, development, and implementation of business-critical enterprise data systems.
- Solid grasp/experience with data technologies & tools (Snowflake, Hadoop, PostgreSQL, Informatica, etc.,)
- Outstanding knowledge and experience in writing SQL scripts.
- Experience establishing documentation standards frameworks for data quality, data governance, stewardship and metadata management.
- Ability to foundationally understand complex business process driving technical systems.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong stakeholder management.
- Solid slide preparation and presentation skills.
- Solid understanding of Project and Program Management processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Guidewire Suites knowledge is an asset.
- Insurance knowledge is an asset.
