Job Description

Position Summary:
As the Business Development Manager at Stansberry Asset Management (SAM), you will lead the Business Development Representatives (BDRs) team while also acting as a key producer yourself. You will play a pivotal role in driving SAM's growth by uncovering new business opportunities and personally engaging with leads to secure meetings and win clients. Your dual role will not only involve leading by example but also mentoring the team and strategically advancing the firm's business development initiatives. You will be instrumental in executing initiatives that meet or surpass set revenue targets, thereby directly contributing to the firm's success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage directly with leads to secure meetings and win clients, demonstrating top-tier performance in client acquisition.
  • Set a high standard of success and achievement, serving as a model for the BDRs.
  • Ensure the BDR team's activities are aligned with SAM's strategic goals through daily management and performance analytics.
  • Regularly assess team performance, strategically realigning goals and client acquisition tactics to maximize outcomes.
  • Provide continuous mentorship to BDRs, focusing on refining calling techniques, prospect communications, and overall client acquisition strategies.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, set goals, and strategize on overcoming challenges, ensuring a robust pipeline movement.
  • Work closely with the Marketing department to enhance outreach campaigns and messaging, which directly supports lead generation efforts.
  • Proactively manage the lead pipeline, ensuring a steady flow of opportunities from initial contact through to the lead funnel progression.
  • Track and analyze both personal and team performance against established goals and metrics to continuously optimize outcomes and exceed targets.
  • Maintain a keen understanding of market trends, industry shifts, and competitive movements to strategically position SAM ahead of market curves.
  • Use insights from market analysis to inform business development strategies and practices.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field required;
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in business development or sales within the financial services sector, including at least 2 years in a management role overseeing a BDR or sales team.
  • Demonstrated success as a top producer in sales, meeting, or exceeding objectives through effective client acquisition strategies.
  • Proven success in leading teams to meet or exceed objectives, with a strong capability in strategic planning and team management.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with robust negotiation capabilities.
  • Expert proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce preferred) and MS Office. Familiarity with market analysis tools is advantageous.
  • Thorough understanding of financial markets, investment products, and the regulatory landscape affecting the financial services industry.
