Position Overview
We are looking for a Senior Account Executive to work with our Victoria team, supporting the team on day-to-day PR activities for travel, tourism and lifestyle accounts. We are proud to offer flexible hybrid working between home and the office.
Role responsibilities
- Building, maintaining and nurturing existing relationships with top-level local, national and international media to secure client coverage, across sectors including; travel & tourism, hospitality, lifestyle and others
- Delivering first class written material, including press releases, features, case studies, and social media copy
- Hosting events, dinners, meet and greet site tours and media/ influencer trips
- Planning and executing media and influencer drops, gifting and sponsorship opportunities as well as all client facing activities; weekly briefing calls, reports and strategic planning meetings
- Working with the Account Manager on business development activities to secure new clients and PR projects, helping to build pitches/proposals, engaging in research and participating on presentations when required
- Mentoring and overseeing junior members of the team and work closely with agency partners to ensure they meet agency standards and best practices
Required skills
- Two year’s experience as an Account Executive or equivalent role within a communications agency or as an internal communications manager
- Strong writing and media relations skills with strong knowledge of the BC and National media landscape
- Strong administration skills
- Demonstrate ability to support building a positive work environment and culture
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, a creative flair, data analysis capabilities
Advantageous skills
- Have an understanding of traditional and digital communications platforms
- Previous experience working in an agency
- Travel/hospitality experience
- Event planning experience
- A college diploma/university degree in PR, Journalism, Digital Marketing or Marketing
