We are seeking a dynamic and driven Sales and Business Development Manager to expand our footprint in the horticulture sector and adjacent industries by leveraging our cutting-edge labeling and printing solutions.
Position Overview:
The Sales and Business Development Manager (BDM) will focus on identifying new opportunities, building relationships, and driving sales for SATO's labeling, tagging, and printing solutions within the horticulture industry and other relevant sectors. This role requires a proactive professional with in-depth knowledge of industry materials, competitive landscape, and barcode printing solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Horticulture Market Expansion: Identify and establish relationships with key channel partners, growers, and retailers in the horticulture sector. Promote SATO’s suite of products, including tags, labels, and printers, ensuring solutions align with customer needs. Provide insights into market trends, competitor offerings, and product applications within horticulture. Drive sales by developing targeted business strategies and presenting solutions that leverage SATO’s unique capabilities.
- Barcode Label & Printer Solutions Development: Engage customers across horticulture and other industries, with a focus on direct and business partner channels. Serve as a subject matter expert on inkjet, thermal transfer (TT), and direct thermal (DT) printing solutions. Provide knowledge on barcoding solutions, including material selection (e.g., Paper/PET), adhesive types, printer specifications, and tag/label applications. Educate clients and partners on the benefits of SATO’s products, offering tailored solutions that meet diverse industry needs.
- Quoting and Solution Customization: Oversee the quoting process for customized tag and label solutions, ensuring accurate assessments of tooling requirements, material specifications, and printing processes. Leverage expertise in Paper/PET materials, adhesives, and barcode printing processes to deliver competitive, efficient quotes. Collaborate with technical and product teams to design and quote solutions for pressure-sensitive labels and other high-demand products.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Preferred Skills: Familiarity with channel partnerships and retail distribution models. Strategic thinking with a track record of driving sales growth in new and existing markets. Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
