The District Sales Manager should have at least 3-5 years’ experience in wholesale distribution or in residential or commercial design/build materials sales and project management. This experience is critical to a quick ramp up of sales, but candidates with less experience, a positive attitude, strong sales and people skills, and an aptitude for technical products within the construction and development industries will be considered. We are looking for someone who has a strong sense of urgency, who possesses a confident demeanor, and is highly motivated. Though this position is considered a sales role, the candidate must have an aptitude for technical problem solving and the desire to grow themselves, sales, and the product presence within their assigned territory.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and develop new customer acquisitions for the company in the region.
  • Maintain and enhance existing customer relationships to increase the amount of business the Company does with these customers introducing new products across our wide breadth of offerings.
  • Participate in annual budgeting process to develop his/her territory budget for sales dollars.
  • Provide in a timely and continually updated manner the following: customer relationship management software, itineraries & expense reports while demonstrating personal & professional organization as well as planning skills.
  • Identify, manage and close growth opportunities in assigned territory.
  • Meet or exceed annual performance goals as assigned by Regional Sales Manager (supervisor).
  • 80% of time allotment is on in field sales calls
  • Calls in the field should be on wholesale distributors, specifiers and contractors.
  • Conduct product and application seminar to various industry disciplines and organizations.
  • Provide lead administrator with qualified lead reports.
  • Support Business Development Manager’s initiatives.
  • Identification of key contractors and Specifiers.
  • Position reports directly to Regional Sales Director.
  • Evaluate membership and attendance at local and regional organizations to promote contractor awareness of products and services.

Experience:

  • Degree from four-year College or university preferred.
  • Minimum of three to five years sales experience with a preferred progression from inside sales; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong industry sales/specification experience. Intermediate PC skills, as well as general knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word are a must. Salesperson must show willingness to learn and utilize internal computer system.
  • Must have a valid driver's license at all times as well as a clean DMV record.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, relationship, time management, prioritization and business skills
  • Ability to recognize a problem or potential problem and react quickly and effectively.
  • Must demonstrate good team and human relation skills, reliability and trustworthiness.
  • Ability to read and analyze sales reports and interpret general business trends.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
