Position Overview

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving business growth, identifying and securing new opportunities, and establishing strong relationships with both new and existing clients. This individual will play a pivotal role in expanding our client base, increasing revenue, and contributing to the overall success of the organization. This position reports to the Executive Director of Business Development.

Responsibilities

Market Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients, competitors, and emerging trends in the industry.

Lead Generation and Prospecting:

  • Identify and create a pipeline of potential clients through various channels, including networking events, industry conferences, online platforms, and referrals.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns that attract potential clients and drive lead generation.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Cultivate new client relationships by understanding their requirements, presenting relevant solutions, and assisting with negotiating contracts.
  • Update CRM software with client information, sales activities, new project opportunities and follow-up plans.
  • Work with the Executive Director of Business Development to analyze CRM data to identify strategies that are producing the desired results and opportunities to improve the business development process.

Proposal Development and Presentation:

  • Collaborate with the Estimating, Pre-Construction and Marketing teams to develop compelling proposals that address client needs and showcase our capabilities.
  • Deliver persuasive presentations to clients, effectively communicating our value proposition and tailoring solutions to meet their specific project requirements.

Revenue Growth:

  • Work with the Executive Director of Business Development to develop and execute strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets, tracking progress and making adjustments as needed.
  • Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities within existing client accounts to maximize revenue potential.

Market Expansion:

  • Assist the Executive Director of Business Development identifying new markets and segments within the construction industry for potential business growth.
  • Assist with developing entry strategies for new markets, including evaluating risks and opportunities.

Sales Process Execution:

  • Coordinate and execute the sales process plan along with the Estimating, Pre-Construction and Marketing team to deliver effective proposals and presentations.
  • Assist the Executive Director of Business Development with strategic changes to the Sales Process Plan to continuously improve the process.

Brand Awareness:

  • Coordinate with the Marketing team to identify opportunities and deliver content to increase the company’s brand awareness in the industry.
  • Assist the Marketing team with content collection to develop sales brochures, project whitepapers, website updates and social media posts.

Sales and Revenue Generation:

  • Cultivate relationships within legacy and new markets that lead to project opportunities that align with our organizational goals.
  • Contribute to the overall revenue growth of the business.

Client Acquisition and Retention:

  • Increase the client base by successfully acquiring new clients.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and referrals.

Strategic Partnerships:

  • Establish strategic partnerships with industry stakeholders, suppliers, and collaborators.
  • Leverage partnerships to create new business opportunities and enhance project opportunities.

Market Expansion:

  • Expand market presence by successfully entering new markets or segments.
  • Increase brand awareness and recognition within the industry.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Estimating, Pre-Construction, Marketing, and Operations.
  • Ensure seamless communication and alignment of goals across departments.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience in the commercial and industrial construction industry
  • Relevant business development experience preferred

Other Requirements

  • Ability to carry out duties in varying work environments including wide ranging weather conditions and terrain.
  • Ability to travel for 10-20% of the time to support client meetings and presentations.
  • Regularly sit, stand, climb ladders and stairs, walk and talk and listen.
  • Occasionally lift and move objects up to 30 pounds.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required.
  • Ability to pass drug screen and background check.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
