As a key player in advancing EV infrastructure in Canada, we collaborate with industry leaders including Charge Point Operators, Networks & Manufacturers, Utilities, Developers, Large fleet operators, Property management firms, Engineering firms, and Government.

We are looking for a Full-time Project Manager for Pre-Construction, Design, and Construction Management of DCFC EV Charging Infrastructure to join our EV Department. We are seeking an individual who is looking to bring their experience and skills to our team, have opportunities to grow within the company, and add to our reputation of quality and customer service excellence. We are looking for someone who lives in the Lower Mainland in B.C. and can work in person at our head office in Abbotsford initially, and transition to hybrid-remote while still being able to attend meetings in person as needed.

What you will do:

Pre-Construction, Design, and Budgeting

  • Engage with and attend client meetings to determine their needs
  • Develop project scope, high level design requirements, schedule, and budget
  • Engage necessary engineers, surveyors, geotechnical, etc. to produce custom electrical/civil/structural design Site qualification reports, Preliminary, IFR, and IFC drawings
  • Engage and work with utilities design teams to develop new service designs specific to project requirements
  • Engage and work with local municipalities to ensure the design meets all local building code requirements and obtain all permits associated with project
  • Develop RFP and RFQ scopes of work to send to subcontractors
  • Obtain installation quotes from electrical and other subcontractors
  • Estimate In-house labour, subcontractors, and material requirements for jobs and change orders for clients
  • Complete formal proposals/quotes based on design and scope of work estimates
  • Ensure client contract aligns with all vendor contracts and pricing

Construction Management:

  • Set and supply the project schedule to the client
  • Coordinate with all trades, provide daily report of the teams progress to the client
  • Ensure work is completed to Power Pros and the client standards
  • Source and order materials and equipment for each project as needed
  • Manage change order process in Procore
  • Manage project budget and client billings
  • Ensure compliance with Power Pros COR certified safety protocols and procedures
  • Perform scheduled Power Pros quality control review and reporting
  • Oversee client engagement and progress meetings

Project Management:

  • Create, organize, review, and maintain the budget, schedule progress, and financial reporting
  • Review and approve labour hours for work performed
  • Review and approve supplier and subcontractor invoices
  • Complete progress and final billings on a timely basis
  • Review and adjust billings to customers
  • Create, negotiate, and manage contracts with vendors to ensure alignment with specific project scope

What you bring:

  • One of the following:
  • 10+ years of experience in the Electrical trade, certified as a (Red Seal, FSR Class A or B) *Preferred
  • 10+ years of civil/utility construction experience
  • Electrical or Civil Engineering degree with similar project experience
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, oral); *French is an asset
  • Experience in large DCFC public charging projects
  • Demonstrated organization, scheduling, project planning, customer management and people management skills
  • Ability to manage 30+ projects of considerable scope and complexity on time within budget
  • Experience working directly with clients on “Design-Build” construction projects, including overseeing engineers, subcontractors and in-house staff
  • Knowledge of invoicing and client billing
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting engineering drawings, Utility data (kW demand reports) and risk assessment
  • Proficiency in utilizing various software including:
  • Procore, MS Project, Monday, Asana, Jira
  • CAD, Bluebeam, Foxit, or Visio
  • Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Ability to manage a project or series of projects of considerable scope and complexity on time and within budget.
  • Experience with Civil Works and/or utility design/installations
  • Experience in estimating and designing using Accubid estimating programs (Bidwinner Plus, Change Order Pro, etc.)
  • Knowledge of electrical utilities like BC Hydro, Fortis, etc., and experience dealing with municipal building departments. *Experience with Utilities and municipalities in other provinces an asset
  • Familiarity with building codes (CEC, CSA, MMCD, etc.)
  • Understanding of contracts, proficiency in writing them (CCDC and MMCD)
  • Ability to intermittently travel across Western Canada and potentially Eastern Canada for project site reviews.
  • Valid drivers license

Pay: $100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
