Overview
The Program Coordinator will play a pivotal role in advancing the Arête Glacier Initiative's mission by managing key elements of our grantmaking process, supporting programmatic goals, and ensuring the smooth operation of various initiatives. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about climate change solutions, highly organized, and eager to contribute to a growing, mission-driven organization in a meaningful way. Education and Experience Requirements
Undergraduate degree in a field relevant to Arête Glacier Initiative's work, such as environmental science, climate science, public policy, science communication, business administration, or a related field.
At least 2-3 years of professional experience, preferably in a mission-driven or nonprofit organization, with a focus on grant management, program support, or a related field.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong English writing, speaking, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with team members and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in Google Suite and experience with grant management software or databases is a plus.
Additional Notes
This position is fully remote with occasional in-person attendance required at national conferences and meetings in, but not limited to, locations such as New York, California, and Washington, D.C., as needed to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
Role and Responsibilities
Grant Management Support (30%):
Assist with the coordination and administration of the grantmaking process, including tracking application submissions and ensuring all required documentation is complete.
- Provide logistical support for grant-related activities, such as organizing review meetings and preparing materials for reviewers.
- Maintain and update grant management databases and files, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
Communicate with applicants and grantees to provide information and support throughout the grant lifecycle.
Grant Monitoring and Evaluation Support (15%):
Assist in monitoring grant performance and compliance by collecting data, reviewing grantee reports, and providing preliminary analyses of project outcomes.
- Help prepare summary reports and presentations on grant progress and impact for internal and external stakeholders.
Coordinate with program leads to ensure that all grantees are meeting reporting requirements and adhering to timelines.
Programmatic Support (40%):
Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on strategy and organizational development.
- Support the planning and execution of programmatic initiatives, including workshops, webinars, and community-building activities for scientists and other key stakeholders.
- Provide administrative and logistical support for program events, such as coordinating schedules, managing participant communications, and organizing materials.
Provide general administrative support to the team, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes.
Writing/Communications (15%):
Assist with the preparation of reports, presentations, and other materials for internal and external audiences.
Assist with the drafting of website content, press releases, and other communication materials.

Compensation
Compensation range for this full-time position is $50,000 - $60,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
