Job Description
- Accountable for the on-time delivery of bulk rail inbound raw materials from suppliers to production/transload facilities.
- Work with our warehouse and procurement teams to ensure timely loading/unloading of bull containers to reduce/eliminate rail demurrage detention.
- Negotiate bulk rail rates with CN/CP.
- Manage all bulk rail car leases/maintenance.
- Maintain and ensure bulk rail routing guide compliance.
- Maintain all required carrier documentation, including contracts, insurance requirements, addendums/tariffs etc.
- Track and communicate key KPI metrics including, cost per liter, load tracking, and OTD
- Ensure accurate and timely period end reporting and financial accruals.
- Knowledge of the customs clearance process and required documentation
- LIQUID BULK RAIL CAR MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE A MUST.
- 5 years of logistics and transportation management experience.
- Post-secondary school certificate in management, transport, or a related field
- Knowledge of ocean transportation
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work to ensure delivery of service objectives and to monitor performance by preparing statistical reports, analysis, etc.
- Knowledge of financial management practices and systems
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment under limited supervision.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations regarding the transportation industry
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a time-limited environment.
- Ability to supervise and develop logistics supervisors.
- Hazardous materials and CTPAT training, with or without formal certification
