Job Description
Employers Council is searching for an energetic, dynamic Sales Representative to grow membership. TheMembership Sales Representative plays a key role at Employers Council as the first point of contact for potential members. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in sales as well as strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Acquires new members by developing relationships with prospective members, identifying new leads, and engaging with established leads.
- Engages in strategic conversations with a variety of business stakeholders, including C-level executives and Human Resources professionals, to understand their needs and communicate value propositions accordingly.
- Generates and cultivates leads through various channels, including phone calls, networking events, and industry conferences.
- Compiles and manages reports and lists of prospective member leads, based on information from market research, sales campaigns, promotions, trade shows, business directories, and other sources.
- Make outbound lead contacts via phone and email, and visit prospective member companies.
- Understands and effectively applies knowledge of Employers Council membership services and Pay-As-You-Go Services to effectively deliver a value proposition tailored to solve prospective member needs.
- Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in target companies.
- Collaborate with other departments to schedule meetings with appropriate staff and prospective members to help close sales.
- Manage new member sales process, provide feedback, and assist with refining the process when needed.
- Attend and staff tables/booths at conferences, trade shows, and events to share information about the benefits of membership.
- Assist in creating sales plan and report metrics to stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Education:
To perform the job successfully, an individual must demonstrate the following:
- 2+ years prior sales experience preferred.
- High School diploma/GED required.
- College degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Ability to manage a large number of prospective members with care and efficiency.
- Writes and speaks professionally, clearly, and informatively.
- Demonstrates attention to detail.
- Ability to have strategic conversations with a wide variety of business stakeholders.
- Meets commitments and completes tasks on time and with high quality, accuracy, and thoroughness.
- Willingness and capability to learn a broad knowledge of Employers Council services.
- Strong customer services skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Displays passion, optimism, and contributes to building a positive team spirit.
- Inspires and treats people with respect and trust.
- Knowledge of Sales Management and or CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce, Hubspot, etc.) preferred.
- Frequent travel required.
