SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
The Business Analyst will be the key financial advisor to our business units, driving insightful analysis and supporting strategic decision-making. The Business Analyst empowers leadership with the financial insights needed to achieve business objectives and navigate risks. By leading the development of financial models, creating frameworks for consistency, and providing consultative support, the Business Analyst plays a crucial role in shaping Partner Colorado’s financial strategies and ensuring operational excellence across the organization. The Business Analyst reports directly to the CFO, but works closely with all departments.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor Performance - Create daily, weekly and/or monthly reporting packages that evaluate business performance and identifying potential risks and opportunities.
- Project and Assess - Create regular reporting to the CFO on the Credit Union’s cash and investment positions. Develop forecasting models to project and plan for future liquidity. Assess investment opportunities and trends.
- Update and Advise - Serve as a proactive business partner for all areas of credit union operations, providing financial expertise and support in cross-departmental assignments. Interpret business trends communicated by stakeholders and translate them into actionable updates and recommendations.
- Analyze and Recommend - Prepare the monthly Asset/Liability Committee (ALCO) packet and coordinate preparation of Balance Sheet Risk Analysis (BSRA) reports with the Credit Union’s third-party ALM vendor. Provide ALCO with timely and insightful analysis, assessing risks, and identifying potential outcomes in support of strategic decision-making.
- Plan and Forecast - Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, managing interim forecast updates t reflect progress or deviations from the plan
- Communicate Effectively - Create presentations and narratives for various leadership levels, effectively communicating business results and financial insights.
- Support Objectives - Conduct ad-hoc analyses as needed to support business and finance objectives, ensuring alignment with overall goals.
- Drive Improvement - Support all departments in assessing operational processes for added efficiencies, recommending and implementing new processes or best practices to maximize capacity, improve service quality, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Assess and Estimate - Serve as the subject matter expert for all records and third-party systems required to calculate the Credit Union’s monthly loan reserves, pursuant to the Current Expected Credit Loss accounting standard
- Record and Preserve - Maintain full and complete records of all investment activities, ALCO meetings, and other key documentations supporting strategic discussions and decisions.
- Comply - Participate in all State and Federal exams, and external CPA audits.
- Adapt and Contribute - Take on additional responsibilities as assigned to support the team and organization’s financial goals.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Four-year college degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics or a similar field required
- MBA or Masters desirable
- Minimum five years’ experience in a credit union or banking environment
- Minimum three years’ experience in a finance, treasury, business analyst or similar role
- Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and management accounting practices
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel; Advanced knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint)
- Expertise with data analytics tools, such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Zoho or similar
- Excellent math and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Starting annual salary - $75,000+ depending on experience
