We are looking for an enthusiastic, results driven Area Director of Retail Marketing that will lead our Massachusetts markets. Understanding of the Timeshare/Vacation Ownership Industry matched with multi-unit leadership experience and strong team building skills are essential.

This role will report to the Regional Director of Retail Marketing and will lead a team of usually 3-6 Sales Managers, a Manager in Training (MIT), and support 15-30 team members. The Area Director will drive alignment with the strategic goals that are set for the region. A critical aspect of the role is execution: they are responsible for operationalizing strategy, removing obstacles to productivity, and implementing best practices across their stores and teams.

Area Directors must create a culture of high performance and high engagement while identifying and developing the next generation of leaders. A key responsibility will be to build and retain a strong leadership team. The ability for this leader to recruit, train, and retain top talent is a must in addition to consistently motivating their people.

Specific Duties, Activities and Responsibilities
  • Provide remarkable and memorable customer care when interacting with customers; role model ideal behaviors to ensure Sales Managers, MITs, and indirect reports maintain the same standard.
  • Display positive, courteous and respectful behavior towards fellow associates, customers, business partners, and the Company; ensure Sales Managers, MITs, and indirect reports maintain the same standard.
  • Establish and foster positive working relationships with the retail partner management teams in the market area; serve as the primary contact for escalated issues; be a good steward of the retail partner's brand and ensure Sales Managers and indirect reports maintain the same standard.
  • Responsible for operational execution including the work, performance, and behavior of Sales Managers and MITs.
  • Drive profitability of assigned stores by leading through and equipping Sales Managers and MITs with the tools they need to meet or exceed budgetary responsibilities as it relates to the generation of leads and selling vacation packages.
  • Audit and uphold brand standards and dress and appearance guidelines in all assigned stores.
  • Recruit Sales Managers and MITs to maintain a fully staffed team based on approved headcount.
  • Proactively partner with Talent Acquisition to monitor staffing levels; assist with full-cycle talent acquisition efforts initiatives to maintain staffing levels as needed; hold Sales Managers and MITs accountable for staffing levels.
  • Audit completion of pre-employment documents and compliance trainings on a set cadence; hold Sales Managers and MITs to the same standard.
  • Oversee and assist store leaders with the onboarding, training, coaching, development, and succession planning for their teams.
  • Create a fun atmosphere that motivates and inspires the team to reach their potential and exceed expectations; recognize individuals and the team for milestones and goals achieved.
  • Follow and uphold company policies and procedures with all associates in the market area.
  • Ensure Sales Managers and MITs process payroll by deadlines.
  • Submit compensation related changes/updates prior to deadlines; hold Sales Managers and MITs accountable to the same standard.
  • Partner with Regional Director, Vice President, and/or Human Resources on escalated coaching, counseling, performance management, and associate relations matters.
  • Schedule, attend, and actively participate in team meetings, required trainings, and/or workshops.
  • Responsibility and oversight of adherence to all Bluegreen, State and Federal hiring and employment regulations for stores within assigned region.
  • Visit stores frequently.
  • Assume Sales Manager responsibilities as needed.
  • Travel over 50%
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent experience required.
  • 4 years marketing management experience and 2 years sales experience required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the timeshare industry, OPC marketing or telemarketing sales is a plus.
  • Adept at using technology; working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Exceptional presentation and interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Willingness to always represent the brand with integrity.
  • Adaptable and flexible to a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Possess a dynamic personal presence with a strong ability to persuade, communicate and train associates across multiple market areas.
  • Lead by example – on the floor selling with the managers and reps when visiting assigned stores.
  • Detailed oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strong ability to think strategically and analyze information timely and accurately.
  • Ability to spend a significant amount of time at a designated store location.
  • Ability to work between various sites and travel up to 50%.
